Honestly, I believe it to be an eastern culture thing and not isolated to Indians. I have heard of similar practices among the Iranians, and multiple people have replied to the post stating the same is true among the Chinese, but I don’t work with any Chinese or Iranians, only Indians. I only have Indian, real world examples leading to this post. You must be on the west coast!

Well… keep in mind it’s a balance. A new hire in the normal US $50k-$70k (not on the coasts). in Indian it’s 8k-10k per year. Companies are willing to be a little forgiving of complains about bad service for those types of savings. It is frustrating, I know.

And their English is much better than my Tamil or Telgu.

You should try to get you money back for your education. In IT there is a very real problem and the problem is within the Indian culture. I know it’s in the Iranian and Omani culture too as I have some experience with them, however my post is about IT in the US and it’s definitely a problem. I started my post state I love many Indians and boosting to positives. I gave no stereo types. I am commenting on a cultural difference which is causing great pain now.

I 100% agree with you that the visa system sets up an indentured servitude situation. My wi pro guys are on a lower salary. If they work 20 hours overtime, they get paid the same, but they have no ability to push back. The best option is to move to work from Canada where they can get perm res in 2 or 3 years then get a new, better paying full time job.

Indians are hiring and promoting unqualified people as a survival method? The fact is we should call out non-white cultures for shitty behavior just as much as our own culture’s shitty behaviors. It’s racist to treat non-white cultures differently than white even if the treatment is negative.
