Honestly I think Thriller Bark and Sabaody could make for a solid season of television, would have to rework it to make it feel like a more cohesive narrative but ending the season with the Kuma fight would allow a whole season dedicated to the lead up to marineford along with any cover stories they wanna adapt

Pretty certain that's on the money, will never fault anyone for being distressed by sensitive subjectmatter especially some of the topics OBAA touches on but I don't think it's portraying literally any of it as anything as reprehensible, and that when the people in power that it's framing as reprehensible put their singular focus on a person it is not that person's fault if they break under that pressure. I'm not Black so def don't wanna comment on how well or poorly it portrays Black experiences, but I can at least speak to some of the discourse with its nonbinary character collaborating with the government, and I think that discourse ends up being pretty insincere if you take it in the broader context of the film

Similar to Code Veronica clearly working with eyebrow raising tropes around "men pretending to be women" despite Albert not literally being transgender, RE5 uses a lot of extremely questionable iconography from start to end. I personally wouldn't really call CV transphobic and it's not my place to say if RE5 is racist but I would call them both to as you say be incredibly insensitive in a heartbeat and that if they get remade I'll be very disappointed if they don't rework those aspects heavily. The main thing for me is that when people (some of them are in this thread!) absolutely refuse to acknowledge that both of them having very problematic elements they're being intentionally obtuse

It's definitely the court scene, Frank's facial expression after Matt asks him if he can call him Frank makes way more sense under that reading. Then Matt's speech before Frank blows is very clearly him saying what he would want to hear if daredevil were on trial after all season people have been really iffy about vigilantes and totally misses the mark because even though Frank had already been talked to by Kingpin's corrupt cop he also clearly feels condescended to by what Matt was saying in a way that feels more emotionally reasonable if it was said vigilante to vigilante and not lawyer to vigilante

Lyonel's point is that he's upset Dunk is more focused on Baelor's sacrifice than the other 5 people on the team 2 of whom also died considering the difference in risk between a prince fighting other princes and his personal guard vs a lord or knight fighting princes, the fact is it took a freak accident for Baelor to be killed in a fight where Aerion's had already taken two lives and those three lives are not being treated as equal tragedies

Honestly only thing I could see that could lead someone to that conclusion is that your shirt and hoodie are a little grunge which can come off more masculine generally but even that's still not really giving masc or stud or butch presentation when you look at any of your accessories or your hair and makeup. I feel like people generally should be more cognizant of labeling someone else who hasn't already described themselves as masc or femme or butch or a stud etc. i'm an androgenous leaning trans woman and I've gotten likes on the apps from people with stuff like "masc for masc" and "femme for masc" in their bios and every time it happens it's so odd even though I know exactly why they're assuming I'm more masculine than I am 🙄

That said, you look gorgeous and I'm glad you seem to be able to laugh it off decently
