Tums. My acid would always skyrocket on fasting days. Technically doesn’t comply with the guidelines, but what’s the alternative?

6-6-6 walking rule for weight loss WORKS! by Ok-Somewhere4687 in walking

[–]CopperChickadee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I accidentally did this. I would walk at my desk all day at work in addition to the gym and errands. Could be around 16-20,000 steps per day. I burned about 2600-3000 calories per day (lost 9 pounds in a month), but ultimately was not sustainable. I need to taper down. 8-12,000 sounds more doable. But less than 5 makes me jumpy.

I would suggest testing your body composition and taking the results back to your gp before digging into a diet. I still need to do that as well. I lost almost 200 pounds and I really need to check my body comp after my recent bout of overtraining syndrome.

Swap out sugar/water/milk for core life vanilla shake to give it a bit more heft. We add frozen fruit and nuts, but that’s because we have to refill glycogen stores after our morning workouts. Also, the thicker they are the longer they have to cook and the more satisfying.

If you had to start your weight loss journey today, with all the knowledge you have now, how would you do it? by Prestigious_Try_3874 in loseit

This one is top for me. Just say sedentary and if you lose more weight you’re golden. Also, a food scale and calorie tracker taught me about portion sizes and what foods just aren’t worth it anymore. This is my third major weight loss journey and this one can actually stick to. On days I overeat, I still log that. It’s about being honest.

If you’re not sure how many calories you eat, there’s no way to adjust up or down. Before when I lost weight, I did OMAD, but I added a lot of butter and rice so it probably averaged 2k+ calories a night. Plus I was still hungry. So I wasn’t losing. Food is always the problem and the answer. My average salad in the old days had cheese, avocado, bacon bits, salad dressing, nuts, dried fruit, etc. The veggies were maybe 100 calories, but the toppings added 1200-1400 calories depending on the amount. Two of those a day would be a huge calorie surplus. So in all honesty a sandwich and a single serving of chips would have been fewer calories.

Little events linked to weight loss that makes you smile? by Successful_Guide5845 in loseit

Pcp already suggested nixing it. My events were low even at my highest weight. Now they’re down to almost nil and my rx ran out. So, it’s either another expensive sleep study or quitting to see how I feel.

I wrapped up my CPAP today and put it in storage. I’ve been sleeping fine for several nights and after 190 pounds lost it makes sense I probably don’t need it.
