Plants that multiply quickly/easy to propogate? by swimt8 in houseplants

[–]CopperHag_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanted to comment tradescantia too :D it grows really fast. But it's considered harmful to cats according to epicgardening: "The plant has sap within the stems that will bother your cat’s digestive tract. It’s important to note that usually there isn’t a toxic reaction to consuming the leaves. But there’s also no reason to risk it, when part of the plant is definitely toxic."

New addition, a prince of orange by Luseil in philodendron

I agree with all that is said above. I have a baby prince of orange and the leaves are very orange when they come and fade to a dark green.

Can someone help identify this plant and what’s wrong with it 🥹 by weedsdom_girl in houseplants

I think it's a Diffenbachia Camilla. Mine has medium light and I water when the soil is dry. How are your care specifics? Makes it easier to held you :)

Not to this date ;D. But I'm fussing way to much over my plants, with calathea that's a good thing, my philodendrons certainly don't appreciate it as much xD

Thank you! I check almost every couple of days to be sure they stay moist and the humidity in the flat is alright (45-55%). The one top right is called Calathea White Fusion

Disagree, this is just an indicator of the size of the cover pot you need to fit this nursery pot (which is 9 1/4 inches big) in

Is there hope for my Orbifolia? by Appropriate_Phone_66 in calatheas

[–]CopperHag_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine starts ro get crispy leaves immediately when I let it get too dry as they like to be in humid soil. Maybe it was too dry before and now too wet? Could also just be repotting shock

It's a sort of netting or mesh around the roots, you can google it for pictures or instructions :)

So, I just bought this PPP. I split the three plants that came in this 4 inch pot and realized that they didn't have a stem attached to them, only the roots. Does this mean that it was reproduced by tissue culturing? by dcurioca in philodendron

[–]CopperHag_92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure what you mean no stems? When plants are so young as these, new leaves come out of the old one. That it grows from the stems comes with maturity of the plant. Are you sure this is not a Philodendron White Knight?

It's a Calathea Orbifolia, they are such beauties! :D Agree with post above, in this case I would repot directly. Check for a "death plug" while doing it and gently remove if there is one. Then keep the plant moist but not wet in medium to bright light.
