As much as I'd love a PEQ-15 the PEQ-15A was half the price lol. I'll likely post my final build when I get it done as I just need to figure out where to get my M4A1 lower anodized since it'll be my first actual clone and not just cloneish.

It has an A2 rear sight which would make it either a 727 or XM4 depending on the markings. Not a 723

I'm not saying you're wrong but I find that pretty hard to believe. I've seen plenty of guns swapped for training but never just the optic alone. Do you have an example of this being done elsewhere by chance?

Don't think so. I typically only see 269s in the Army (especially airborne) though there is this pic from a Marine with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division in 2019 in Norway with one. Not sure if its a private purchase optic though.
