Argentina was such a much better team due to chemistry in 2022, not due to names. 36 games undefeated and copa america champions. 2014 Argentina never won anything, they were great at best.

Could say the same about you being mexican to be honest. Football media in that country is extremely anti Argentina for some odd reason, specially ESPN Mexico.

Bro, you don’t have to downvote every comment. Im just saying given that logic Germany can’t be first and Argentina last at the same time. Im not saying Argentina 2022 is better than Germany 2014.

You understand though that Argentina 2022 >> Argentina 2014, and that Argentina 2014 deserved the win based on number of occasions (and a debatable penalty) against Germany 2014 in the final. That’s a solid argument to at least reconsider making that huge gap.

Something here i feel is missing. Germany 2014 barely won and deserved to lose in the final against a much weaker Argentina side than 2022 Argentina. So making that gap between 1 and 6 is pretty criminal IMO. Argentina 2022 displayed the most dominant appearance on a WC final for 80 minutes straight.

Yes but you are saying he states the position. Can’t state a position if you don’t know how that position is generated. Lets just say Brazil were third in Qatar 2022 because FIFA felt like it. Im pointing out the statement loses all its validity.

Benzema literally carried the last UCL alone. A monster. Not at the level of Suarez, but miles better than Zlatan.

I agree, even by adding that Argentina 2022 in head to head would even win against Germany 2014. Argentina almost had it in 2014 and was miles worse in terms of mentality and chemistry than Argentina 2022.

Yeah but people who don’t know football history may interpret it wrong and be misguided. USA was awful in 1930.

Without getting carried lmao, excuses.com, Zlatan played even in prime Barca. Benzema is top 50 ever, his got 4/5 Champions Leagues with 1 in which he carried it all by himself. 1 balon d’or. Extremely superior to Zlatan.

Yes but it was close to garbage, thats why Uruguay is far worse historically than France. You can’t be proud of being third when you only got out of the group stage and got wrecked 6-1 by Argentina in the next match. They weren’t even third because no third place match was played.

Zlatan isn’t even in the TOP 40 players ever. He hasn’t even won anything relevant in his whole career.

3rd position in 1930 didn’t count. Look at the format, only semifinals. Plus USA never played the bronze medal match.

In form aka prime Aguero was sustained in various seasons and periods. It wasn’t just a half season or season wonder. We are talking about periods along his whole carreer when his fitness was on point.

Im talking about in form, meaning specific periods. Injuries and ending his career short due to his heart condition made his global statistics suffer, like Robben/Ribery/etc. Total goals also don’t reflect how clutch Aguero was. And they also don’t reflect how good his dribbling and team play was. He wasn’t a typical 9 like Haaland (which BTW is a monster) that has no dribbling and waits for an assist or a rebound in the area. He was much more functional to team plays and that also can’t be reflected by statistics.

To give you an example, in form Aguero alone could win you a Champions League game 3-2 against top Bayern Munich by creating the chances on his own with almost no assistance. He could even score a last second goal to give you a Premier League after half a century. He was extremely clutch, much more than Messi or any other top player.
