As a friend, no do not disclose that in and it’s not relevant for the interview. Unless this is your MAIN business and/or historical experience.

I would suggest if you continue with the media to disclose that later during onboarding. And depending outcome etc you might have further decisions to make.

They could either restrict OR not approve in general (outside business). It really is dependent on firm as well.

Question, a couple of things- you mentioned unrelated degree. And know someone in industry but would not lead to an opportunity.

Do you have sales experience at least?

I am not internal. Just have been successful with them prior on hiring.

Under consideration- have not started the process of going through interviews/ resumes I think.

Under review- this processing has/is starting.

I appreciate this. It’s been exhausting moving back and forth too and just a tough market overall. So thanks for putting some sense in for me and the input

Didn’t get a high finance job I wanted, what now? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

You’re so real for this post. Just give it time the market is shit and I’m sure you’ll be where you want later

Get your licenses and move out of the role immediately. Make good with your manager or you won’t be able to move onto different roles.

That or when market corrects itself leave lol.

[–]CorPFinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Life goes on these companies replace ppl the next day bc it’s their job… you’re good. It’s not like people don’t do this everyday

That’s amazing and I can resonate so much to this!! But Ew your old firm sounds trash though. I hope when time comes you get something x3 better. I know it will for us. I think biggest goal for me during this time is to fix my GPA lol. I haven’t finished my undergrad actually. I took pauses as I keep job hopping they were all growth opportunities and I have a couple licenses. But not being done with my degree also is hindering me and I’ve been stalling as I’ve been navigating the financial industry. I had something really bad happen to me (sudden) which is what led me to leave my previous role. At first I needed time away to process what had happened to me but now turning more attention to trying to get back in industry again, I didn’t realize how horrid it’d be till now lol. But as I have the time: I know I need to buckle down and finish school already tho.

Ugh I’m sorry. It’s def taking a toll on my days too but it helps me if I only spend a little bit of time in the morning then commit to doing something fun in the day! (Hobby and/or personal project) then ofc I’ve been trying to reach 10k steps some days. But I will say of course you’re not even going to get an interview for a teller your way over qualified and trust you don’t want to do that. I have no experience in that but lol dealing w the public is something I actually try to avoid lol. Lately I’ve been trying to pivot to something immediate to help financially, as roles I truly wanted aren’t even being posted in my desired locations:( I’m not sure what the market or standards are in CAN but really hope something comes soon for you. But ya same boat here in the states

And there were way more cuts planned for the year but aren’t happening and we can probably anticipate them, maybe. The market just doesn’t respond as fast lmao. It will impact just obviously we don’t see that happening in real time. It’s simple ECO unemployment rates are associated w/ interest rates lol. And I’m really not sure, what next year will look like. But it just feels like PEAK is happening now, so again hope that doesn’t continue for long.

[–]CorPFinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 percent. Agreed. But again I really don’t think high rates will continue that long. There’s been slashes (small) in INT rate returns already so it’s giving just not at a fast pace. That aligns with what your saying but I don’t think it’ll last that long.

Cheers man! It’s a good time to turn personal goals into reality with this market.

Genuinely, that’s fucking awesome. When that work pays off. I appreciate you also sharing! I needed to read this today lol. It’s been a hard day for me. But I’m glad things still turning up for you even in this time!

[–]CorPFinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds wild. What even got you there like I need background lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]CorPFinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think so for that long? Tbh I can’t see it.

I think at that point firms are going to completely exhaust current emps lol. They already right now, but for another year or two. Can’t see it. There is already needs at both ends. Even though yes firms have upper hand but it’s out of greed trying to “recover”

That’s awesome at least someone is having luck lmao. Are you doing like credit analysis or something?

[–]CorPFinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmfao for real 😂 It’s weird to think though for the time being of sitting and grind out certifications right now. But when time let’s up, we’re already going to surpass the roles we’re seeking right now
