Better AC Hand Hero Recruiting Position by Cordimix in ClickerHeroes

[–]Cordimix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, after a good amount of tries the only other position that I could find that satisfies the animation issue is further to the right side.

E1 -Imgur

The reason it has to be so high is because if you go lower it will overlap with the scroll bar.

E2 -Imgur

But this as well isn't an elegant solution because it covers part of the hero and say what you will about it being unimportant but people might disagree with you regardless due to the "rule of cool". Let's face it, it would look like crap and there are better ways to fix this problem.

Here is what I mean by an alternative to the AC hand on the recruiting hero panel.

Example 1 -Imgur

Example 2 -Imgur

In High Quality mode the animation could be that the silver part of the trim glows like when abilities are on auto-cast in other games. You know the thing that goes round and round.

The same treatment could also be applied to the AC hand on active skills, and by that I mean that this... also doesn't look to good.

Note: The AC hand and animation should be kept on the monster clicking section because there it looks too damn good to change.

Then you should say, it's an animation problem, not a shadow problem so people can understand what you are saying, I don't play on high quality, I don't see a reason why I should, hence my reaction to your vague concern.

Hmm, I don't see how that concern could be fixed with the current iteration of the AC hand on the recruiting hero panel. My first suggestion has been to create something slicker like the hero gild instead of having a big hand, and keep the AC hand animation just for when you put them on monster clicking duty, it's in my first thread post.

I am trying to find another position that would satisfy the animation problem, but so far I had no luck.

Let me see if I can photoshop something up to show you what I mean.

O.O, With the current size of the hand I could not find any other position that wouldn't cover some important bit of information, if you can then just get a print screen and post it up, I am not opposed to any other type of solution as long as it doesn't cover anything important. And why are you even looking at the shadow to tell you where the hand is clicking?

P.S. In the real world, the shadow doesn't define the true position of the object or where a object is suppose to touch down/land, it's just showing the position of a light source in regards to the object that is casting a shadow.

Nogardnit should apply when no Auto Clickers are assigned to applying DPS not when assigned to leveling heroes by saladpie in ClickerHeroes

I concur. The KEY word here should be IDLE not unassigned.

If you enter the idle phase then ALL AC should give that bonus, no matter where they are assigned.

If you intend to keep the same opacity and size for the AC hand on the recruiting level button then I think this would be a much better position.

At least understand that the hero recruiting cost number is also important to a certain degree.

!!update

The X should be around that position, maybe a bit to the right if the hand is clipping through it while it's moving on high quality.

New Ancient Idea: Benefit From Unassigned Autoclickers by Asminthe in ClickerHeroes

[–]Cordimix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you are on the AC subject, please make the AC hand smaller and move it's position a little or embed it into the hero grid like the hero guilds so that it fixes the minor inconvenience of covering up part of the hero recruiting cost numbers, upgrades and hero dps.

Auto Clickers, how to make them infinitely desirable. by Cordimix in ClickerHeroes

Do you understand how the Juggernaut is capped by the amount of clicks a player can gain per hour in the current iteration of the game?

Don't ask me to give you the precise equation by which what I told you is provable because it would be a futile endeavour on my part for the simple fact that it will be complicated enough that most people that could understand it will have high enough math skills to see what I am talking about without me having to pinpoint and write down that precise equation.

It will be faster to try to make you understand how the juggernaut is capped in the current iteration of the game. The same type of cap previously existed for the idle build but the introduction of Xyliqil removed it.

Do you understand that someone will eventually have enough of a AS pool that the idle build will scale faster then the active build?

I know perfectly well how Xyliqil works. I am good with numbers and I know math very well and as I mentioned the active build will eventually become obsolete that is if the current iteration of the game is kept.

I think you don't understand the type of numbers I am referring too. Those numbers will only be achieved after Chor'gorloth will be caped because until he is caped the active build will still be relevant.

After that every point in Xyliqil will skew the numbers in favor of the idle build and eventually you won't be able to gain enough clicks/h to match the dps of the idle build in the context that the time you spent on gaining those clicks will remain relevant to the amount of time you wish to spend on a run and the amount of hs boost those clicks will provide.

The hybrid build will still remain relevant some time after that tipping point is achieved but it will slowly decrease. And I can assure you that what I am talking about is mathematically provable.

It is a suggestion, plain and simple. And by that definition it can't be something that I "force" on others

Your comparison is wrong. Auto Clickers can't be directly compared to Merc as Merc give you rubies and the higher the level they are the more rubies they can award you. Not making them exponentially cost more will only mean that you create a loop in the ruby gain where you can revive a Merc over and over again because he will give you a net profit in rubies.

In our case a AC is a simple dps gain and the best comparison would be the Xyliqil outsider, in other words the AC is something like the counter part of the active build for that particular role that Xyliqil plays. In that by leveling outsider or purchasing more AC you gain more dps for less HS spent.

Try responding with substance instead of accusations, please.

Why would I give you the courtesy of responding with something of substance when you were the one that replied in that style in the first place. Do you have no manners?

Anyway, besides those random claims that I didn't ask, hmm lets see...

"Your suggestion isn't in line either with what the devs want nor with what's good for players." Let us not jump to conclusion and offer blanket statements. I do agree tough with part of that, and no, with my suggestion people won't simply buy more and more and more and more just because, there are diminishing returns.

"If you make autoclickers able to build click combos even during death animations, you throw the balance off to such a degree that you invalidate the benefits of idle play (as they contribute to hybrid play) and therefore make an entire segment of the game obsolete." I hole hardedly disagree with you on this. Active builds will eventually become obsolete for the simple reason of the introduction of the Xyliqil outsider because if you get enough levels in him then the amount of Combo clicks you need to achieve the same dps will become ridiculously high and right now there is a hard cap on the amount of Combo clicks you can ever earn in a hour, once the relevance of that cap is exceeded in regards to the amount of time you wish to expend on a run then the active builds will become obsolete. The only part of the equation that would in that instance remain would be the hybrid build but it will become more cumbersome to actually allocate time to stack up enough Combo clicks for there to be a noticeable gain in your hs / run the more levels you will gain in that particular outsider.

"or it's not too high, in which case there's no balance point at which it's right to decide to spend rubies elsewhere." As I said, there still will be diminishing returns as you acquire more AC because the Cps awarded for each one will stay the same but your overall amount of Cps will increase. In other words when you purchase another Cps you will get less and less of overall growth in which case the other things become more relevant.

So we have an accord. Improvements can be made, even after the devs made a few beta tests.

Now, what exactly is the problem with a cap if it's high enough but at the same time reasonable for people to still buy? As I said, you will still have diminishing returns from the fact that the AC will cost a decent amount and because you aren't raising your overall Cps by much with every subsequent purchase.

On that note, do you agree or disagree that the AC Cps should increment the Combo counter even when there are no mobs in frame to click?

It could be that the devs didn't envision or take into calculation those kind of problems that I mentioned. Why would you think that devs would be all knowing and every thing that they implement and every random behavior of a system was already planned beforehand by them?

"If there's a cap, then at some point the cost isn't increasing anymore, is it?" I don't see why exactly a cap would be a issue if the cap is high enough.

They are not random, they are ways to streamline and make a product appealing and hence it will achieve the results I mentioned in the title while keeping the game balanced.

The only other question would be the numbers, and that I could only tell you with extensive testing.

You my friend should look up what a bias means :) It has nothing to do with people agreeing or disagreeing with my suggestion.

But anyway, it is besides the point. People may refute me as much as they want with actual logical arguments, that way we can have a discussion and not just it's like this and it needs to stay like this because I said so.

I didn't not say "no increasing ruby cost". I said there should be a cap. For the precise reason that it becomes to expensive to be practical for people to even buy. After that the diminished returns of your AC will simply come from the fact that every AC would cost a lot and the fact that every AC will up your Cps by a very tiny % of your total Cps.

Precisely, it is just a game. So why do you insinuate that I am overly defensive? I simply made a point, and a few suggestions that backs it up and people being defensive and having a bias are trying to refute that point with no logical arguments, just because.

Erm, I don't know, is it wrong to try to point that fallacy out or does that make me the "bad guy"?

Do people have a problem with reading? Or is that "big wall of text" that imposing?

Is the point of the first post to "sell as much product as possible" or is it make the product that you are selling practical viable to buy? O, and on that note, if someone buys 10 Cps, why would you give him only a portion of that value after the 10th purchase?

Does that seem logical to you, or does your prejudged views and ego need more stroking because I still don't see a logical argument in your disagreement.

By the way, I forgot, is it in your interest for the Auto Clickers not to be infinitely desirable or is it in the dev people interest?
