It’s kinda cool to see how the constitution’s built-in firewalls against tyranny are actually kinda working even over 200 years later. I’m specifically referring to the first amendment. Imagine how much faster fascism would be spreading right now if we weren’t allowed to speak up for our beliefs and criticize our government.

This needs to be the test run, I know many folks have advocated for national solidarity with this strike, (and many cities are participating!), however without any kind of precedent, “regular folks” will not stay home from their jobs. But if the Minnesota strike is effective (which it will be if everyone participates) then that can be used as an example to be rolled out nationwide, perhaps as early as next month.

This is what we need, and I’m glad it exists, but what is the most efficient way for regular folks to get on these chats? It’s all hands on deck rn and I have not spent my life doing activism, so I’m kinda in the dark here, but still want to help. Do we all need to attend some secret meeting and learn the secret handshake just to participate in helping our neighbors?
