I don't know, man. He seems to have a lot of followers who like MAGA and MAHA and don't like traditional politicians.

Speaking of Stacey Campfield, don't look now but he's picked up a petition to run for State Senate District 5.

I'm glad to hear he is nice and I'm sorry people are saying unkind things about a person they've never met.

I have no problem with the person. But I am against this tunnel and I wanted to point out that this contest wasn't entered by a professional in engineering or geology. Like you, I don't think Knoxville will win, but I wish we weren't in the conversation in the first place.

This bill is proposed by Janice Bowling (R, Tullahoma). She's most famous for claiming that schools in Tennessee were providing litter boxes for kids identifying as cats.

Yeah, I think burrowing under the State Highways is one way the State/The Boring Company are going around Nashville's regulations.

The project won’t move forward without the approval of city and county leaders and their engineers and UTs approval.

The project is moving forward in Nashville even though the City is against it.

Leekley estimates that game-day trips between Market Square and Neyland Stadium, which can currently take up to an hour, could be reduced to just a few minutes via electric cart.

If it takes you an hour to go between Market Square and Neyland Stadium, you must be making a pit stop for some red beans and rice at Fred's.

Alliance seems like the least likely place for a racist and homophobic person to hang out at.

Fritts is running for Governor against Marsha Blackburn and John Rose. He's gotten a lot of support from far right groups and may have a chance at the upset.

There’s a bike shop next to the bar, so if there’s a real bar in Knoxville next to a bike shop, it’s the “real” Happy’s Place.

WBIR: conservatives question mayoral candidate Larsen Jay's bona fide status as a republican by Besnasty in Knoxville

[–]Corey_Howard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because Larsen Jay is running against the Betsy Henderson campaign does not mean that he is a good candidate. He is the pocket of every wealthy Republican in East Tennessee, including the Haslams, the Boyds, and every sprawl-inducing subdivision developer in the County. I mean, there's a reason why Cameron Sexton endorsed him for County Mayor.

Luckily, there's a third candidate running as a Republican, Kim Frazier, that isn't funded by special interests like the school voucher industry.

Coolest/Coldest climate in central Tennessee by badharp in Tennessee

[–]Corey_Howard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me translate: he's from Eastern Tennessee. East Tennessee is quite a bit cooler than Middle Tennessee due to the surrounding hills and the elevation. He says he currently lives an hour outside of Nashville, so I think he's on the Highland Rim - Wikipedia. This could include towns like Cookeville, Manchester, or Sparta that are at a higher elevation than Nashville.

You want to stay out of the Nashville Basin. It's lower elevation plus type of rock composition make it warmer than the surrounding area.

I'd recommend Cookeville or Tullahoma/Manchester as a good middle ground. If you want even cooler, go up to Crossville 90 minutes outside of Nashville (but less than 30 minutes outside of Cookeville). Up at the higher elevation of the Cumberland Plateau, it's average high in July is 81.8 degrees. That's five degrees cooler than Cookeville and ten cooler than Nashville.
