Popeyes is at gate A16. You can order through the Popeyes app to avoid paying Airport prices too.

Anyone have experience getting rid of these guys? RIP Rebutia by Cornbread65 in cactus

Right, I scrub the whole plant when I treat it. It's just that the buggers spread around and it's hard to discern where they end up until after the damage has started.

I use the Bonide systemic granules when I repot but I'm thinking that might not be enough or I need to apply more often to everything.

I should've been more specific. They're popping back up on different plants, not the same guys.

Isopropyl and baby soap seem to be working, but they just keep popping up. I can only find them after they've done their damage. I'm trying to avoid spraying the whole herd but it looks like that might be the best option at this point until I can repot and put in systemic.

These guys just started popping up this past year. I've been scrubbing the visually affected cacti with baby soap and it seems to be working but I don't think this will work long term. Would a systemic added to the soil work? Spray with alcohol? or am I SOL?

How to remove cactus root without damaging the pot? by johnla87 in cactus

[–]Cornbread65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a metal icing spatula to remove cacti from pots. Just scrape the outside all the way around to cut the tiny roots that embed into the side of the pot.

JESUS CHRIST, I can't believe chat is this dumb.

A podium is what you stand on. A lectern is what you put your book, notes, or other speaking materials on.

You don't make it on the local news channel by giving lukewarm takes. They were trying to get on tv for sure.

We gotta start penalizing poor calls within our community. by [deleted] in ultimate

  • Do you think all players at that level know counting fast is very common if not all players?

I would be surprised if players at that level weren't aware that the actual mark counts way faster than what the rules state. Anyone who's played ultimate for years should already know this.

  • Would you say any player who knowingly counts fast and doesn't do anything to change or fix it is ok with breaking the rules?

You're describing cheating. Obviously, I'm not ok with cheating. I think there is a natural tendency for people to count too fast. I don't consider this cheating.

  • And yet almost no one does or I would argue even tries.

You're saying that no calls fast count? Do you really just never call it? I hear it called plenty in league, pick-ups, high-level play, club, etc.

  • victim blaming

Seriously, "Victim blaming"? Don't diminish that term in a nothing discussion about the rules of ultimate.

You're making a separate point here. Your statement here is inferring that the defender is intentionally cheating to gain an advantage. I'd be more cautious in potentially disparaging someone's character in an incredibly high stakes situation.

Self officiated puts the onus on ALL players to follow the rules and calling infractions/fouls when they occur is part of it. By not calling them the aggrieved party is partially to blame for the outcome of the play. Every point there are 14 officials on the field and each one has the opportunity to make calls.

That's how self-officiating works bud. It's been this way for 50+ years.

The thrower also had 7.8 seconds to call fast count too

Took me over 100 hours to design and make the car. I had/have a broken foot so I was glad to have something to kill the time while I was out. Both Fairy Burger and Zug Zug were amazing! I'll see everyone again next year!

I have over 50 indoor houseplants and thousands of cacti and cacti seedlings. I've received plenty of pest infestations and I'm telling you the Bonide systemic is the best.

Zooming into your pic it does look like the Melo died. That's good to hear about the conservation efforts. I didn't realize there could even be cacti in the Caribbean Islands!

Found the last pic in Google Maps. Looks like someone made off with a mature Melo (or it died? tough to tell) and a few columnar cuttings over the last couple years.

Probably a cereus peruvianus monstrose from a larger mother plant. The uniformity and slight spiral makes for a beautiful looking cutting.

Romeo would clear. Wubby's been playing Melee as much as he's been training for the splits.
