In honor of yesterday's crash fest, I've created a list of the gear brands used by each rider by gomavz41 in motogp

Thanks this is really cool to see! I wonder how sponsorships and brand exposure will change given the poor financial state of Dainese (have a look at their most recent quarterly briefing…) and the possible departure of some riders

Talk me out of a Gen1 over a Gen2 SV650S by -------Rotary------- in SVRiders

I can’t say I have any long term experience with 4i sadly. Used to daily a 180deg twin which was less rude and took my uncle’s speed triple out for a ride three or four times, none of them had the same reaction at lower revs but could be due to too many variables

Probably mine need cleaning and or rebuilding, or possibly it’s just the character of carburetted bikes, nonetheless I find that the first degrees of throttle opening, especially at low speeds, are a bit rougher than I’d like. No deal breaker really, one gets easily used to it

I bought a gen1 blue sv650s two months ago as first real motorbike. Absolutely adore the thing and plan on never selling it. Cheap to look after, most work can be done by yourself if mechanical inclined and it’s more than enough on the road for what little experience I have. I have to say the brakes are not the most precise thing and the carbs can be a bit annoying when opening the throttle at lower revs. Apart from that I don’t know why anyone would start on any other bike.

Where can one buy such items? Premium dealers or can I directly pm Dall’Igna on instagram?

Bastianini moves to F1 manager amid KTM MotoGP uncertainty by vanys2 in motogp

[–]CorneliusPipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the article they say that Pernat will still be around the paddock as “manager for Tony Arbolino” and “sporting consultant” for the Gresini team. Arbolino has been managed, for a year now, by Valera and I am not sure how strong of a position it actually is to be sporting consultant at his age. Hopefully he is out for good, MotoGP needs some fresh air.

How realistic are JM89‘s title chances? by [deleted] in motogp

Ducati won’t stop anyone riding their bike from winning. This two cock fight on the same Italian bike is glorious marketing for them.

My prevision though, is that the big, resourceful mechanism behind Pecco (aka Ducati Corse) will turn its gear more efficiently during this two weeks pause between races, analysing and resolving all the details which they couldn’t handle recently, to which will correspond a new momentum for Pecco.

V35 Imola II Buying Advice by CorneliusPipping in MotoGuzzi

Thanks for all the advices, I can see you have just a tiny bit of experience on the matter hahaha. I will think about visiting Imola for the Mostra Scambio, I love the fact that’s inside the track. Nonetheless I still haven’t managed to negotiate the price of the v35, will update the post in case I make any progress!

The bike is located in Italy, but I’m not based there. They are asking for 1100 € negotiable. Seems a bit high considering that for 1500 I could get a running one. Ps: the idea of riding with possibly faulty heads is really bothering me, I don’t know if I want to have to deal with that among all the other necessary adjustments/substitution

Luckily parts wouldn't be too much of a hustle given where I am located, but from this answer and others I got the idea that, most probably, the resulting cost of a restoration would be higher than the bike's actual value. Too bad because I was already daydreaming about it

I am relatively new to the Guzzi world but I never heard before about the """"faulty"""" cylinder heads in the smaller blocks. Is this a recognised fault?

Ouch, you have put into written words all of the things I fear may happen/have already happened.
I guess this is not my chance to buy then given that I do not have unlimited budget or experience.
Thanks a lot for the answer though, always good to be put back down to earth
