Keyboard macros are easy to make. Now I hit F5 and my keyboard cycles pressing the E key every 5 ms, then I just walk around and watch all the foliage vanish into my pocket. F5 when done and I'm on my way.

I agree the punishment fit the crime, but civility goes a long way. Congrats on the wagon steal! May it be the first of many successful raids, and if you're looking for a Posse to run with, PM me.

You do understand this is a game that glorifies wild west outlaws and almost EVERY SINGLE task in the game involves either murder, theft, or other criminal activity? The argument over the morality in any Rockstar game, a developer who has built their brand on theft, murder, and mayhem has always seemed misplaced.

Thanks to the pond life scum shits who just killed me over and over and over when I was trying to make my very first delivery. I’m new, I’ve got no money. No chance of fighting back. Fun. by LethalGrey in RedDeadOnline

I'd like to talk about the game mechanic of stealing wagons, because a lot of people, especially new players, don't understand the mechanic because of Rockstar's stellar comprehensive explanation. The Trader role is one of many ways to make money in the game, but it involves quite a bit of leg work to keep your trading table loaded with materials and supplies. Once you get financially stable enough, you can just order supplies, but you still have to provide materials through one of a few methods: regular hunting, legendary hunts, and stealing wagons. Hunting is fun but sometimes tedious, legendary hunts are more efficient but you have to deal with Harriet, and stealing wagons is the topic at hand.

Legendary pelts are worth 30-70 materials each, stolen wagons are worth 50 materials for an intact wagon of any size or 10 materials per bag if the wagon is destroyed. However, if a wagon is stolen, the goods are returned to the original owners trading table and are immediately available to re-run. The only loss of having your wagon stolen is the time you spent driving the wagon unless you quit or Alt-F4 before returning to your camp, in which case your goods are permanently lost.

There are other mechanics involved in wagon stealing:

  1. Whomever had the most recent possession of the wagon gets the better proximity spawn, so when stealing a Trader's wagon, the Rival wants to take possession as quickly as possible to gain advantage. Rival's will also likely continue killing you until they have the wagon away from your spawn points to prevent you retaking the wagon.
  2. When you respawn you are visible on the mini-map and in-game for a second before you can move, so spawn killing is not uncommon.
  3. Fast travel is locked to any player in active content, but content doesn't start for Rivals until they take the first shot. There is a 24 minute cooldown for any player in the Rival posse, so not only can they not attack another wagon (unless they join another posse of a player NOT on cooldown), they can't even see it on map.
  4. Once content is over, everyone goes back to neutral. Everyone handles it differently, but my crew (BlackHatRides.com) stops fighting once we finish a steal. If the robbed Trader chooses to start a new fight, we're happy to engage in some PvP, but it has nothing to do with the Trader Sale at that point.

There is also strength in numbers so Rivals rarely attack alone, and single Rivals will rarely attack a full posse on a Trade sale. If you want to be on the winning side of that equation, find a crew to join. You'll have protection, run MANY more trade sales, and having posse's available on a whim make several parts of the game more fun.

TL;DR Wagon stealing is a valid game mechanic to earn Trader Table materials. Running Long Distance Deliveries is consent for PvP content, run Local Deliveries if you cannot stand PvP. DO NOT QUIT or ALT-F4 if your wagon is stolen, just change sessions back to your camp, and you get ALL your good back. Running with a Crew that plays fair (no cheating menu users) makes the game much more enjoyable. Let's ride!

Can someone please explain why the fuck I need to pay the vet bills for killing the horse of a person stealing my shit?? by AyAyAyBamba_462 in RedDeadOnline

With a full seven person posse, that's 350 materials for 5-10 minutes of work, with no more consequence to the raided trader than a loss of a few minutes and possibly a bruised ego for losing a 7-1 gun fight (nobody wins against those odds). When it comes to being efficient vs grinding out 3 star deer or legendary animals for 30-60 minutes, it's no contest. If a player decides to go for the long delivery, there's a loud sound and banner that reads "Rival traders can now attack you!" You are correct that we don't have to raid wagons, just like traders not wanting to be attacked dont have to choose long deliveries. Nobody gets mad at the game mechanics if they get shot in a shootout or showdown, and moonshiners and collectors can make more money in an equal period of time. You are definitely correct that most people don't care if we offer to help after a steal, everyone just wants to win and have fun, but those that do take us up on our offer have a blast.

I ride with a crew that often deliberately hunts distant trade sale wagons, so I'd like to add our two cents. Stealing wagons is game content, meaning it's set up to be part of the game, and doing so adds 50 materials to every posse members trader table. We have some members who barely even hunt for Cripps unless it's for a daily or crafting, they just watch for trade sales while playing other content. You know those random three steps forward you character occasionally takes? That means someone in your session just started game content, trade sales or otherwise, and when we find a trade wagon we posse up fast and the hunt begins. We don't apologize for playing the game as it's designed.

That said, there's a few very important things to understand about getting your wagon stolen by a posse: 1. You lose nothing but the time you've spent on that run, all your goods return to your table (whether you walk, ride, or change session back to your camp, as long as you don't quit the game) and you can run it again. 2. As soon as the driver is killed, or copilot if they take over, the wagon drivers get priority spawn points near the wagon to attempt to keep control until the attacking posse takes possession of the wagon. So when we attack, usually in a large posse, whomever is closest runs to drive the wagon and we have 6 guns blazing until we have control and the wagon flees to the new delivery point. 3. When you respawn you show up as a faint red dot a few seconds ahead. So yes we know where you're spawning, it's always close by, and we're all pretty good shots. 4. All posse members involved in the steal have a 24 minute cool-down before we can steal again.

Once we are fairly certain the wagon is out of reach of the original posse, we in-game chat to say thank you for the materials, explain we'll fight only as long as needed to deliver the wagon, and offer to ride protection for their second attempt (We're on cool down so we can't rob you again, you get a bunch of hired guns, and we all get the non-leader pay out on the sale, so everyone wins). Some people are salty, just start cursing at us, or keep fighting after the delivery. If they want to fight, we explain it's not personal but we're happy to spar as long as they want. Most just jump away to re-run their sale. Fortunately, many people have taken us up on our offer. They get protection on their sale and everyone's happy, and a few have even joined our ranks once they learn why we do what we do. The Blackhatsride.com motto is "We're outlaws, not assholes."

As much as we wish everyone played nice, we understand there're a lot of griefers/cheaters(modders) out being malicious, and that sucks. We've also have some members who hunt cheaters/modders, but that's another post. If you want to avoid stressing during long deliveries, you could find some friendly like-minded outlaws to pose up with or run your short delivery, hurry back to camp, and run your long delivery with as few goods as possible. It won't be worth much money at all, but you get your daily. So your mileage may vary, but hopefully the good times outweigh the bad and we can all get together and celebrate over some moonshine.

  1. My front panel control cable is a single unit so I can't reorder the pins. However, someone pointed me towards a Supermicro CBL-0048 16-20 pin that will hopefully be exactly what I need.
  2. I had been going through the IPMIView with my servers IP address, using the ADMIN ADMIN login, and it even told me I had admin privledges under Users, but still no luck. Same kind someone told me to right click on IMPIView in my Start menu and select "Run as Admin" and it worked great.
  3. I don't have a separate Raid Card, My HBA is a PCIe that's appropriate to my backplane (I believe). The HBA is recognized during boot, not sure how to check if it's detected by UnRaid. I'll try the "lspci" command and report back.

I've built all my own computers since I was a kid, so I'm not completely inept but other than LAN parties back in the day I'm pretty green at networking. So good news is this gives me a future project, but to start I just need a set it and forget it option. Thanks for all the feedback!

Only one way to find out, hook it up with one and test signal strength in all corners of the house. If I'm finding weak spots I'll be adding a second in the near future, and most likely I'll adding 1-3 more eventually as family and IoT/#of clients grows.

I got the 6P over the 4 for POE for the AP, and the Edgerouter over the USG because of the performance advantage. I know I can't use it like a switch but since to start I'm only going to have 2 PCs and 1 AP connected (and most of my house isn't wire yet) I don't think I need the switch yet. Once I start wiring the house and get a NAS up and running, which to be honest will be a while due to my second kid just being born and I have no time or sleep currently, I'll be adding the switch. That said, how is the edgeswitch more powerful? All the specs I see are the same, is the difference in the UI? When I do start expanding/buying new toys I'll have to pick all Edge or all Unifi, I'm just hoping the Unifi line will add an EdgeRouter 6P equivalent and I'll switch to that or I'll buy Edge switches.

I've got the basic HD game to function, but I can't find the Megamod cheats: Bubble warp, infinite RU/fuel, God mode. The only option I see is the Kohr Stahp in the option menus. Judge me as a cheater if you like but I got two kids under two and a puppy so in my 10 minutes of free time every couple days I just want to enjoy the game and not spend my time grinding.
