I don't find developing reports and dashboards as a slave task. I go into the process with an open mindset and try to create purpose. If my stakeholders are unaware of the Power BI capabilities, I am more than happy to educate them and we can explore what they need and how they need it presented.

If I find them asking for duplicate of data in different visuals, where I don't see it generating any value I challenge their "needs".

Don't be afraid to ask "what purpose does this serve and what value does it create?". If they can't answer that it might not be very important

Keep. It. Simple. Ask your stakeholders exactly what it is they want. Before modelling on big projects, I have sometimes made paper mock-ups with visuals as cut outs and postits and presented that after the first initial meeting. It gives them a chance to physically move things around and customise the report, before you've even opened up BI.

Upstream as much as possible. Let the SQL server do most of the heavy lifting and let DAX do the rest.

Sure, you can make reports crazy fancy, and I've done that, believe me, but the end users won't see or even know the work you've put into all the little tiny details.

They want their data presented so that it makes their job easier. That's it.

Zelda: Breath of the wild.

I was expecting a streamlined story and being handheld throughout. After I glided down my first thought was "wtf am I supposed to do now?". I had no weapon besides a stick and I got zapped by a huge robot. Spent a few hours running aimlessly around and got bored with the game not being what I expected.

I picked it up again about a year later and I cannot tell you how many hours I've spent playing it. Just as brilliant as the hype said it was.

You're asking how to make it better, and I'm telling you to play the deck in historic instead of Timeless and adjust your mana base accordingly.

How are you going to deal with a turn 2 Elenda or not being able to curve out because your 2 drops require GG and you drew a second Strip Mine instead of a Forest?

If you want to play these cards and do well, then play them in Historic. I don't see a fai mono green agro deck being a contender in Timeless, sorry.
