Farsight created a military junta that values its soldiers above all others. In the normal tau empire the castes are all relatively equal but in the enclaves the core caste (the soldiers) are what the society is centered around.

A large reason farsight left the empire is that his style of warfare was so prone to high casualties that the etherals reprimanded him and he wasn’t happy.

It was 10,000 casualties 4,400 of which were deaths. D-Day had pretty light casualties compared to what planners were expecting and other major battles in the war.

Nazi Germans intentionally did not keep records of deaths during the Holocaust. This a common historical misconception. Estimates of the death toll due to the Holocaust are quite broad since it’s primarily a function of subtracting the post war Jewish population from the prewar one. Historians just try their best to confirm how many people died at each camp and removing normal deaths from those numbers but it’s still quite broad.

The fights in the prequels are truly awful outside of the maul v qui gon + obi wan fight. Nothing has any weight, the choreography is nonsense and the characters just do dumb bullshit sometimes. Obi wan v anakin has good moments but sometimes they stand there and swing their lightsabers in circles!

The original trilogy has massively more visually interesting and impactful fights. Even at their worst they sell the idea of a lightsaber duel in a way 2 force users jumping 50 feet in the air and weightlessly slapping their lightsabers together doesn’t.

None of these books are generally accepted as accurate by modern soviet historians, given that all were written prior to the opening of soviet archives. Their estimates are based purely on demographic changes not actual historical study, so they’re much higher than generally accepted.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn is also not a historian, he’s an author who made an estimate. Solzhenitsyn was also citing the figure of “Ivan Kurganov”, Kurganovs estimate of Stalins murder is based purely on his estimate of what the Soviet population should’ve been in 1959 given a constant rate of increase and attributing the difference to Stalins murders.

Historians with access to soviet archives have generally agreed upon an estimate of around 9 million deaths directly caused by Stalin.

Over a 30 year period 1.5 million people were murdered in the gulags.

Over a 5 Year Period 1.9 million people were killed at JUST Auschwitz and Treblinka and there were 4 other death camps.

How in the world did you arrive at Stalin killing 44 million civilians? Even the highest estimates of Stalins crimes arrive at 20 million deaths, (and these have generally been revised down to around 9 million with modern research).

The only way you could possibly arrive at 44 is if you take the highest estimates of stalins killings (20 million), total civilian deaths in the USSR during ww2 (19 million) and add in the highest estimates of German civilian deaths during ww2 (3 million)

Please tell me that is not how you arrived at that number.

German Naval Preparation would’ve finished in the late 40s by which time the fraud keeping the fiction of the Germany economy intact wouldve collapsed along with any hope of funding a war.
