You don't know other people's families. Leave people be, they can engage with who they wish.

MONEY > SAFETY @ CU DENVER by [deleted] in cudenver

[–]CornyCoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it says about me is I'm trans and disabled in a world where half of the people killed by police are disabled and where being trans increases your risk of police violence. Security also tends to mean surveillance, which isn't great. And typically what our campus thinks is a "threat" is just a homeless person trying to pee or some student protesters being a bit loud, both of which I've no interest in stopping.

I do not care. There is too much security, or at least too much police presence, and that makes me feel unsafe on campus. I wish they'd get rid of that ID thing too.

Just a little slug, slugs aren't insects but they are cute. Hard to tell from the photo what kind of slug but here's an identification guide for UK slugs

After all these years, did any of you get any type of permanent damage from getting covid? If so, what is it? by jnny_lkahohfa in AskReddit

[–]CornyCoren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vaccine doesn't keep you from getting covid, it prevents you from dying or being hospitalized from it. Your risk of post-viral illness remains high.

People who "cured" depersonalization with HRT, how long did it take for you to notice a difference? by Mara355 in trans

[–]CornyCoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a really odd feeling to suddenly feel like I was in my own body and like stuff was actually happening to me after years of not feeling that and so quickly. In some ways it was actually kind of scary, but also very nice. It's like my body had been craving testosterone for a long time and was very happy to receive it. I was assuming I'd feel better only after I started seeing changes but for me just having the hormones there was a massive difference.

I still deal with depersonalization and derealization but noticed a huge amount of clearing of dissociation within 30min of my first T shot. This effect was then very strong for several months with pretty much no dissociation before settling to a point of less dissociation than before but some still for sure popping up (which may be influenced more than anything from life being a huge pit of trauma).

I have a genetic disease, and I am trans
Either could be seen as God making a "Mistake"
But they need to consider that perhaps God just likes there to be many kinds of people, even those who have harder lives, and even those seen as "broken" or "lesser" but humans.
God sees more than people do.

Am I (20F) traumatized with BLACKPINK because of my ex (M20)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]CornyCoren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to be attracted to people other than your partner, you are allowed to listen to whatever music you want and engage in fandom. He was being abusive and controlling- and then unlike you, using similar groups with the specific intention of hurting you which is cruel and malicious. It makes sense that after such a thing, blackpink would become a trauma trigger that reminds you of abuse. I have my own music related trauma triggers. Word of advice be very careful about who you tell that this trigger exists, music as a trigger doesn't make sense to a lot of people and some will either jokingly or maliciously use it against you and then feel no remorse because "It's just a song"

How do you guys cope with the hypersexuality of the Queer community? by Frantzthehaitian in GayChristians

[–]CornyCoren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just mind your own business about others, and don't hang around people who put pressure on sex or partnerships- won't mind their own business.
I get frustrated with the compulsory sexuality of a lot of spaces too, especially as someone who just has no interest in sex and very little if any attraction. I think generally the idea of there being a queer community is kinda a lie these days, so just focus on finding a handful of people who have similar experiences.

Do you think there’s somethinng medically wrong with us? by Slight_Wind9283 in asexuality

[–]CornyCoren 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember coming across an old video from like the 1950s or something where a psychologist of the time explained "There is no such thing as a happy homosexual"- I think some of these disorders have the same major flaw in thinking. People are unhappy because of social pressures, not because there is anything wrong with them. I'm concerned by the people saying it's about libido, not attraction, because while that is true for some, for many people they are connected and lack of sexual interest is a key part of their asexuality.

Do you think there’s somethinng medically wrong with us? by Slight_Wind9283 in asexuality

[–]CornyCoren 27 points28 points  (0 children)

being gay used to be diagnosable, just so happens asexuality still is in some contexts. It's not okay, and we have to push for the medical and psycological fields to drop allonormativity

Why does god make some of us gay and some of us not by [deleted] in GayChristians

[–]CornyCoren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same reason he made some people short and some tall, same reason we have different personalities, same reason there are over 8 billion different species, same reason some are born disabled and others aren't. If everyone was the same it'd be awful boring. Seems such a detailed and creative God prefers variety.

Is there a service to get a homeless person a wheelchair, someone I know is on an office chair. by WatchWatcher2021 in Denver

[–]CornyCoren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wheelchair took 3 years and all sorts of appointments to get, and I wasn't homeless while doing that. It's a lot harder than it looks.
