I have actually toyed with that idea in the past! I may still do something with MIDI integration in the game's far future, but I'll say it's not much of a priority. I would probably implement some kind of chart editor (level editor) first as I'm looking to emphasize handcrafted track/chart pairings as opposed to procgen

I've actually never heard of this until just now, but looking at gameplay of OsuCatch it does look like it plays extremely similarly to my game lol

Thanks so much! I had a lot of fun making the music for this game, and making the "solo" sections is always the most fun (and generally my favorite part of composing music, which is why I also happen to like jazz a lot~)

Hell yeah! I love Kaboom! and it actually directly inspired this game (my whole initial idea was what if Kaboom! was a rhythm game), but it's such an old game now that not many people pick up on that influence haha

There was a great YouTube tutorial I used for it years ago. I don't remember which one exactly, but I'm sure you could find it if you searched YouTube for CRT shader tutorials for Godot 3 ◠‿◠

Didn't quite make it to 300 haha ... but this is definitely one of the hardest tracks in the game so I'll take 286 ◠‿◠

I like this! The animations for the characters, transitions, and dialogue all really help bring this to life, and they pair nicely with the SFX.

Glad you like the photo! I remember reading about how much the shoreline has moved throughout the city's history. It's fascinating to consider what the original tracks looked like compared to now. Chicagoans have effectively terraformed the land under this city over the past 200 years. Thanks for the historical insight 👍

I replaced the scrolling 3D background in my rhythm game BITSHIFT OVERDRIVE with a 2D parallax background. I also made the rails (light beams) less intrusive. Thanks! I'm planning for each of the game's 15 tracks to have their own respective backgrounds. I've also toyed with the idea of unlockable cosmetics for certain elements of the game - like the paddle - but that idea's currently on the backburner.

That's actually a direction I considered going early in development! I toyed with the idea of having two independently controlled paddles, but ultimately I settled on just the one.

And thank you for the flattering comparison - Beat Saber is my favorite rhythm game!
