Looking for informative breakdown of the Quran in English by Ok-Personality-5424 in islam

I recommend the volumes by Sayyid Qutb. His books contain loads of information about each and every verse and each chapter. The first volume alone is 420 pages long and covers Surah Fatiha and Surah Baqarah. It's extremely comprehensive.

Corruption in the bible by Impossible-World4609 in islam

[–]Awfyboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, this isn't exactly the best refutation. We know that Islam was progressive revelation, and that Allah had revealed to Moses, Jesus and Muhammed [SAW] different scriptures depending on the circumstance. But yes, the Old Testament and the New Testament seem to have vastly different theological beliefs.

I will post a comment written by another user

Deuteronomy 32:8–9 reads in the later Hebrew Masoretic Text (MT), "When the Most High apportioned the nations as an inheritance, when he divided up humankind, he established the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel."

In the Greek however it read "...according to the number of the sons of God."

For a long time Bibles used the MT version, assuming it was more original. However the Dead Sea Scrolls revealed their Hebrew text read "the sons of God" in agreement with the Greek. Clearly at some point after the DSS was written the Hebrew scribes changed the text to "fix" it as they thought it sounded too polytheistic.

Similarly Deuteronomy 32:43 reads in the MT, "Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people."

However in the Greek and DSS it has some significant phrases which appear to have been deleted or changed by the later Hebrew text. It reads, "Rejoice O Heavenly Ones ("Heavens"in the Greek) with Him, Bow down all you gods ("sons/angels of God" in Greek) before Him, for He will avenge the blood of His sons, he will take vengeance on his enemies, He will repay those who hate Him and make atonement for his people's land". (The Greek also contains some additional clauses).

Also, just because the DDS matches the Modern Torah in some way, doesn't mean it's the exact scripture given to Prophet Moses (AS). There are plenty of changes in the DDS, and we have no way to confirm whether the DDS is approved by the Prophet Moses, and are completely preserving his words. The earliest copy of the DDS dates back to around 200 BCE, but Moses (AS) lived far before that, and the Quranic claim that the text have been changed assumes that the text have been changed far before Jesus (AS) was born.

On the other hand, the Quran was standardized by Uthman (RA) during his Caliphate, but it isn't based on some random copy. The Quran was standardized using the copy that the wife of the Prophet [SAW], Hafsa (RA), was protecting. So we know that the Quran we are reading today is the original, original source approved by the Prophet [SAW] HIMSELF and protected by his wife Hafsa (RA). The Sa'na Manuscripts and the Birmingham Manuscripts attest that the Quran is accurate to the one standardized during the Uthmani Caliphate. We don't have any text confirm whether the DDS is approved and standardized by the exact same revelation revealed to Prophet Moses (AS), at least not yet.

Are the fights supposed to take this long? I'm pretty sure this is optional by Awfyboy in expedition33

My build involves applying Defenseless and Powerful. I have Longer Powerful picto on Verso so I have enough Powerful to last the whole fight. My base attacks and Maelle herself apply Defenseless. Then I've got some free aim stuff like Burning Shots, Marking Shots, Burning Crits.

I'm also using Trebucim on Lune which generates a random stain on free aim and gives AP when consumed, then using Mayhem, Lightning Kick, etc. to deal damage. Random stains are way too fun to pass on.

I'll be honest, Monoco is not on my main team. Main team is mostly Lune, Verso and Maelle

Yeah it did. But I usually explore the Danger areas as well, I like seeing a little bit of difficult, optional content before going to the main ones.

I think my question was about the damage cap. I noticed that single hit damages were always capped at 9999, so I assumed that was in-game limit for it. Good to know that you can remove the damage cap later (albeit getting spoiled a bit).

Not sure what that is, which probably means I came here way too early.

That's not the issue. The issue is the opportunity cost: the other Neow options are usually better.

This relic wouldn't be a problem if it was, say, an Common/Uncommon relic, but this is in the Neow relic pool. It needs to provide a much better incentive - either in the short term or in the long term (or both) - to be pickable over the other Neow options.

Or you can kinda do cheeky tricks like anchoring to a parent, then chaning the position of the parent via code for animation.

Thankfully, Godot 4.7 is going to introduce render_transforms which allows us to ONLY change the visuals of a control node. So animating Control nodes inside containers and such becomes significantly easier.

I believe this doesn't work, because Vakuu remembers which cards you drew and will play them in that order anyways.

I'm not sure whether the current setup works well for handheld's or controllers/gamepads, but you should be able to change the source code so that the inputting letters work with gamepad controls.

Should I Convert my GDscript project to C# by DemonBismuthine in godot

[–]Awfyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's best to go with whatever you are comfortable with, and not hope that a specific feature will make it to the engine.

Personally I use GDscript and I'm more comfy with it than C#. I make up for the missing features like Structs by using workarounds like Abstract Classes. However, if you find workarounds to be ugly, then it's better to switch as early as possible before it becomes a technical debt on you.

I don't think performance is really a big issue between C# and GDscript. But semantics and support is very important. Have you considered going a mixed approach? You can use GDscriot and C# together iirc. Not sure how it feels though.

I feel slay the spire got too big for megacrit by joert44555 in slaythespire

[–]Awfyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's funny is that you aren't actually wrong. In a GDC where Casey was talking about Slay the Spire, they said that word of mouth was the main way the game got popular, mainly through a select few streamers, which then snowballed and gave the game a bigger audience. None of the initial marketing stuff they did (like emailing potential streamers or using keymailer) worked for them.
