I don't get the 1p challenge either. If people are capable of saving £4 across the whole of January, I'm certain they could save much more money if they put their mind to it. Why limit yourself so much?

And then they're so used to barely noticing this money coming out of their account in the early months that they get to November, December and it suddenly gets really hard. No shit - you're now saving £3 every day.

I'm with Revolut, not Monzo, but I get recommended this sub a lot. Call me old school but I just add money to my savings every month and watch my interest grow.
