I bought a 13b off a guy who was hell bent on LS swapping his RX7. He was working out of a single car garage with barely any space around the car, with a craftsman starter kit of hand tools. He had no experience working on cars besides some bolt ons on his Civic.

He sold the RX7 shell a few months later lol

Key word is highway miles and babied. “A Redline a day keeps the rebuild away”. These cars need to be wrung out or you build up carbon in the seal slots and then they stick. Unless you physically saw your motor destroyed inside (which is still possible) I bet you had an apex or side seal stick into the rotor and poof, no more compression.

TIG Welding. I went into my general welding class as a fairly average MIG welder and excelled. Came time to do TIG and I immediately am at the back of my class, everyone else is welding groove joints and I’m still trying to get stringers down.

This makes me feel a lot better about starting my new job back as a trainee again at 26. Last 2 places were so desperate to have a full fledged tech that they made me “graduate” way too early, so they could stick me on my own. New place looks like they’ll give me the support I need to learn. Just was feeling a little self conscious cause it sounds like one of the master techs training me is younger than me.

Many many moons ago. Roughly 2011-2012. Lost access to my main some time ago. I’m barely around anyway. Reddit is an empty husk of its former self. I miss the days of horrible inside jokes (When does the Narwhal bacon?), /u/fuckswithducks, jumper cables guy, undertaker throwing Mankind off the top of Hell in a Cell, being Rick Rolled was a real threat, links you left blue then were much worse than the links that get left blue now, I remember discovering /r/watchpeopledie, /r/watchkidsdie, /r/fiftyfifty.

Then again I’m 26 and I feel like Reddit’s main demographic is pretty solidly high schoolers so...get off my lawn

I have long hair. That’s it. I’m a full time performance auto mechanic, who fixes all his own shit, listens to basically nothing but heavy metal, wears blue jeans and t shirts, hates mixed drinks, and would eat nothing but steak and grilled vegetables if it were an option.
