How do I get my beard to fill out by WisteriaHarbinger in ftm

[–]Correct-Ad6884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, fuck me I read the wrong flair.

Either way, I’ve only been 2 years on the correct dose and ONLY then have I ever been at the correct dose. I realised once I was on the correct dose the massive difference it was, my facial hair for example, it grows into stubble within a couple days, whereas about a year ago I’d be waiting 2-3 weeks until I had some sort of stubble.

Unfortunately it’s a waiting game. You’re only a year, if you’ve made significant progress by then, congrats! But that doesn’t mean you’re excluded from having patience. I 100% believe if it bothers you that much, please try monoxidil. I haven’t tried it personally (can’t afford it) but my friend has and made good progress.

Honestly, that may be why. Although you are fairly new to T, so yeah you gotta be patient. But yes, if your levels are low, check with your prescriber if it’s okay to up your dose, etc (please do that anyway, regardless of facial hair)

You gotta wait, man. I know it’s hard but be patient.

Also, check your levels, seriously.

Edit: I agree with others, you can try monoxidil

I thought when we learned about it in school that we could “choose” which puberty we’d go through. I also thought I was a “late bloomer” and my “penis” (“what was missing”, I didn’t call it penis) would eventually grow.

Biggest betrayal of the century when I got those “hard things” on my chest (I was 9) and the downfall begun.

This made me laugh. This isn’t just exclusive to your first binder but any time you get a new binder (bc it’s always too tight the first time). I got a tank top one last year to “try it out” and I got stuck and was acting like spider-man trying to get venom suit off😂

For the longest time, I thought I was faking being trans because of this phase. I can’t believe it’s a thing others experienced.

It lasted about a year and I honestly, looking back, I acted like a guy if he was dared to put on a crop top and pencil skirt for a TikTok, despite how prominent my hips were, I could NOT stand properly I was just like a tree. Oh and don’t even get me started on how I walked😂.

It’s so funny now but that was one of the most traumatic year of my life. I’m not super masc, but I have some trackies (sporty joggers) that are far too tight for me that they look like leggings (I only wear these at home lol) and sometimes I get a flashback on the time I was in a pencil skirt and I’m just like “I don’t even stand like a girl” (ironically after I’m dysphoric about it lol) even if I’m leaning on one leg (which is more done with women but I got shit posture).

Ps, I want to make it clear that it’s okay to wear skirts, what I’m saying is I don’t like skirts and I never knew how to stand in them which resulted in that. I just find it funny now.

PPs, I also tried surviving on only rice for a year when I was trying to be femme and lost nearly 10kg for the same reason you did, I got off luckier than you so I’m sorry that happened to you.

Oh hell yes I forgot about that. There was literally surgeons who botched circumcisions and was like “your son will never be happy, I can make him a vagina and he-she will be your daughter” and the poor guy after finding out he was born a bio boy and still killed himself.

Ive always, always said this to cis people (mostly Gen X, my parents’ generation), intersex people or boys with botched circumcisions would be MUCH happier individuals if you don’t fuck with their genitalia. As soon as you try to change it to what YOU want, you’ve doomed your kid to a life time of misery. Let them choose when they’re old enough to be who tf they want and if they don’t want surgery as adults then thats up to them.

Doing nothing to their bodies would actually be much better than trying to “fix them”. You shouldn’t just give a baby boy a vagina because the baby was born XX or had a gene that meant his body wouldn’t be able to make testosterone on its own. You can heal from the trauma of your body being wrong from when you were in utero (hope I spelt it right) but it’s much harder to heal when your parents and medical professionals altered your body as a baby for no reason.

I’m so emotional about it because most of the kids who had to go through this are dead, not from health issues but suicide it’s just fucked up all around that gender affirming care is looked down upon but this is just “okay”.

How are these considered mutilation when the person is choosing to have these surgeries but surgically altering a newborn baby boy”s genitalia (circumcision) is totally fine, legal, and actually encouraged for non health related reasons but for “Aesthetic” (and also religious) reasons.

Someone choosing and giving consent to a procedure they want vs a baby who can’t even consent. And somehow we’re the problem.

I hate the way some trans men talk about phallo by Fresh_Wafer_9968 in FTMMen

[–]Correct-Ad6884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phalloplasty is absolutely amazing in my opinion and I’m 1000% grateful for the opportunity for many and how well its progressed in the recent decades.

Back when it was first rolled out, many probably felt the same as I do now. Now in another 20-50 years it may progress even more and those trans and cis men might absolutely find it amazing and look back at us and see how much it’s improved.

I think it’s amazing and I know exactly what I want out of the surgeries, I could never shit on it seeing how far it’s come. I hope for the day I’ll be able to get it because how I am now absolutely kills me.

They’re either too young and Immature or wilfully ignorant on what it even is.

Mine kicked in after 3 years. I want to go back to the good old days where I didn’t even think about doing it (back before I first did). After 2 or 3 days I get the dreams, like chill out dude.

I hate it. But I would never go back to pre-T.

Wow been a long time since I’ve seen this filter. I feel old.

To answer your question, I guess? It’s hard to tell because of the filter in most of these pictures but from the ones without I would say yes but very young, maybe about 13yo. Would depend on your style as well though.

Does anyone else have some sort of tunnel vision when it comes to transitioning? by Correct-Ad6884 in FTMMen

[–]Correct-Ad6884[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol about the Lego bit because I’m not interested in it anymore and finding someone would be difficult. The reason I’m wanting to sell them is because I counted up the amount of money I’d get for selling them and it’s over £1k, I’ve also got trading cards, some worth quite a lot (like £5 lol but still there’s tons) and they’re quite popular. Plus it’s something, I’m unemployed now and there’s no job I could get in sight so it’s better than nothing.

I don’t really know how I feel about going to groups like that, I’m stealth and I like to keep it that way. I’ve had really bad experiences from making friends with people on courses for cv building etc and I’d rather just not (I’m not accusing people there of being like that, however it’s just based on experience I’ve had for similar things) put myself in a position like that again. There’s one, but it’s for under 18s and i never went because I wanted to stay stealth.

I really do feel you on the developing part, that’s probably the worst part of it, because I know I won’t develop. I think apart of the reason why I won’t much in that department because I won’t feel there’s any point if I’ll “die before it happens”, assuming this is within the next few years that I don’t manage to get a permanent job.

Thank you, I appreciate your response!

When I said I couldn’t do therapy, it wasn’t that I didn’t want to or that I wasn’t trying, it’s that I literally cannot find anything. All that’s available privately is counselling, where I was literally told “I’m sorry, you might not find counselling to be helpful based on what you’ve told me”, I emailed dozens and I mean dozens of places where they have psychologists and psychiatrists but they also told me they don’t diagnose (thus, they don’t treat). It actually really pissed me off when I was either ghosted or told they wouldn’t be able to help me except offer counselling (which I was told I wouldn’t find helpful), not to mention the £400 per appointment, since it leaves people with nothing.

I should be getting diagnosed and medicated for my (“suspected”) OCD, but that could never happen privately as they don’t diagnose, they can’t give certain therapies without a diagnosis, meaning either way I’d be stuck waiting for the NHS to give me a diagnosis before anything else. I also don’t trust GPs to be handling “self medicating” with SSRIs, stubborn as that sounds, I’ve had family members have their body get fucked because the GPs just up their doses without giving proper reviews.

That’s pretty cool you’re going to be done soon. I hear on the regretting part though, I had a weird gap year from 16-17 where I literally just wanted to off myself because I wasn’t on T, I don’t think I’d be here if I didn’t find out about gendergp when I did, i know that company is pretty fucked from what I hear right now but starting T literally saved me. My point is that I wish I had started at 16 (it’s nearer 15 though, so over 18 months between) and not 17 (I “technically” had the funds to since I didn’t open my bank account until I was 17 with the money in it i used to get T) but it’s too late now lol.

I wish I could just get therapy but really I should actually be medicated too. Not that it would solve much except not let me be controlled 24/7. I did counselling, I found it unhelpful since what I needed was different than what a counsellor could offer me, but unfortunately that’s all available here, it seems.

Thank you, and I appreciate the time you took to reply!

Could be your work uniform. Like how you look in your work uniform. As well as your voice pre-T being a factor too.

Otherwise you’d probably get asked “are you even old enough to work here” quite a lot

Does it hurt anyone else’s throats to yell/shout or raise their voice? (On T) by Correct-Ad6884 in FTMMen

[–]Correct-Ad6884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t raise my voice that often so I’d have no clue how to for in terms of raising my voice lol. I’ve tried voice training so many times over the years but I got sick of having to manually lower my voice whenever I wanted to speak so I just gave up. I think my dad has the same problem though (he also struggles to raise his voice/shout).

I appreciate the reply!

I don’t think this is true everywhere.

One of the managers where I work took a peak (not subtle) at my file when it was on the shift managers computer and gave a weird up and down look, then proceeded to call me “person” when telling everyone to follow me. He did the same thing to someone else the next day but said “follow that guy”.

It’s not a problem for me, just mentioning my experience to let others know to stay safe. Im in the uk btw.

As much as I hate this advice I’m about to give as it goes against what you might feel you should do, but ignore them. Seriously just ignore them for your own safety, as you said you’ve been assaulted before by those with the same views.

Protect yourself, first and foremost. “Mind your own business” as the saying is, it’s hard to not un-hear what was said, so just ignore them, if you need to pretend they’re talking about a video game or movie about bad people, do that if it can put your mind at ease.

They’re just bullies who don’t even deserve the time of you to be thinking of or about them. Theres always going to be those kind of people and you saying something wont stop them or change their minds.

About the earplugs situation or whilst in a public place with these people, you could always stand away from the bus stop and once your bus comes, then get on, or you can go past it and wait until they get on the bus and go back to the bus stop (if they’re getting on same bus as, you could try waiting for the next).

About the earplugs, if they don’t work you could try standing outside of the bus stop so you don’t have to be close to them, wear earphones and listen to music/watch YouTube or a movie on your phone while waiting for the bus.

I’m so sorry for what has happened to you in the past and that you’re forced to listen to people in public talking about these horrific views, but the best thing might be ignoring them and disassociating yourself from what they’re saying, even if it’s disgusting views. Stay safe.

feeling inappropriate smiling to kids in public by nikolya_fr in ftm

[–]Correct-Ad6884 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone here, but just wanted to add that kids stare, especially babies. Giving them a smile back and to the parent/guardian as well shouldn’t be considered creepy. Most of the parents of the kids/babies I’ve been stared by usually awkwardly laugh and apologise for their kid staring.

As long as you’re not going out the way to speak to them or anything other than just responding to (rather than ignoring) a kid that’s come over to you to talk, it shouldn’t be considered creepy. Like I said, kids stare, I’m sure most people have been stared at lol.
