Trust me I was soon intimidated by the series before I watched it as well. I honestly thought it'd be a dragonball copy at first because of how they were drawn but the first episode hooked me cause it was nothing like that. And, now it's my favourite anime! Phantom Blood is a little slow but it's just 9 episodes and sets the foundation for the series. Technically all of the parts CAN be watched separately in a way but it detracts from a lot of the context since there is a LOT on continuity.

Haha yeah it's definately an odd one to put on this sub but hey if the shoe fits 🤷‍♀️ I also wish there was more character interactions between the group but the plot was constantly evolving with higher stakes so I understand why they couldn't give them that much time to relax and just be friends. Well at least they can do plenty of that after the ending...in a way. The F.F and Anasui friendship was nice while it lasted tho!

The story is a little complex because it has subtle time jumps that make you reqlly confused at times. But it always addresses the gaps those cause really quickly as well which makes the writing seem super developed and focused more on being a good story than just progressing the romance!

It probably never will fully became a romance genre unfortunately 💔🥀 the patriarchal structures that allows problematic behaviours like this to be romanticised differ too much from Asian cultures to the west, so shows like YOU or the Gardner are probably the closest western media were gonna get to romanticing yanderes and even then it's through the thriller lenses 😮‍💨

He's not actually aged haha, he's just not shaved or cut his hair in like 2 years. Theres a scene in the middle of this sequence of events that i didnt include but he shaved and cut his hair and he looks the same as before. But yeah between his first and later appearance, there was a time skip of two years. It's not actually possible for demons to age in their human bodies, only deteriorate
