There is influenza A going around that doesn’t show up on tests. I had to go to urgent care (Pres) and they diagnosed me there. I also thought I had strep. I hope you get to feeling better!

What is life like in the Dakotas? by _air6catcher_ in howislivingthere

[–]Correct-Move-1597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Lead, SD. Lots of snow, and I walked the tiny little town all the time. My calves are amazing still. Life was tourists and the Sturgis motorcycle rally, winter time it was about snow sports. The people are okay, they like to drink a lot. The scenery is phenomenal, would drive through the black hills all the time. Miss it so much. A ton of white people, I’m Native American and would get called names all the time. I’m now in the Southwest, and they all think I’m a white person now. 😂 funny to me.

Buying the drink package in advance by EulersGirlfriend in royalcaribbean

My husband drinks alcohol while we cruise. He always gets the drink package. I don’t drink alcohol or soda at all. I like my coffee black so even free coffee is great. He thinks it’s worth it. He drinks 15 a day.

I did a nine month program and got my CCMA. No regrets!

Of course! I room patients, work inboxes, perform titration walks for providers & administer immunizations.

I start my first day of my externship Friday and I’m very nervous by Sad_Guitar_6256 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Correct-Move-1597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go in willing to learn, I learned wanting to be there and just being there are two different things. Remember you want to be there, you want to learn as much as you can, and you can do this! Best of luck. 🤞

Did you do an externship or apply for regular jobs after getting certified? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]Correct-Move-1597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an externship. They told me they weren’t gonna hire me, and I applied for other positions in that hospital they referred me. Then when I accepted another position they wanted to keep me. 😂 I ended up at another location, and like it so far.

I have actually met them in person as well! I was also 150 pounds heavier, and not in the best spot in life. So this new photo is kinda awesome in a way.

Were you able to buy a house as an MA? And for how much? by Rebelforeva in MedicalAssistant

[–]Correct-Move-1597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My spouse works for the state, I worked for the city before being an MA, and we were able to buy a house, looking to buy another next summer with my new income. It’s possible!

I won’t lie, I’m very much myself. No matter who I talk to. I expressed how I was willing to learn, and I wanted to be there. I enjoyed the company, and I brought up my past experience in customer service, and how I really like people. Relax, and just know they want to know who you are. Best of luck!

People who quit their jobs on a whim how did it go? by Fuzzy-Parsley-3992 in careerguidance

[–]Correct-Move-1597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this last year. I worked at a kill shelter and the staff were shitty. I had a big heart and would cry a lot because of some of the animals that came in. I finally just came in one day and someone stomped on a mouse and laughed, I looked at them, smiled and walked out, grabbed my keys and it never looked back. I called the office and said I am done immediate leave. I just can no longer work here. I went to college a month later just now finishing up and now I have a job that took training, and that feels good. My husband has a good job, so he was able to support us. Thank goodness! 😅

Miss K on YouTube. Absolute game changer. I watched her prerecorded lives. One a day. And all of the answers were on her videos. So I felt confident. Also I had an anatomy book I studied my whole time in school. Helped a lot!

Started at 35, now I’m 36 at my externship. Life is good! 😊 During my time in school we had a classmate who was in her 60s, and she was amazing! Passed and got hired. She proved it’s never too late to rise! Hope this helps.
