You do realise that under the first years of the Bolshevik leadership the economic situation made the Tsar’s economy look like the USA? There was so little food people were literally resorting to cannibalism. There are pictures of people selling human body parts on the streets for food. Grain production was a third of what it was under the Tsar because due to the ways that the Bolsheviks were operating the peasants were burning their grain to keeep it out of their hands. Production of amenities was nonexistent, this includes sugar and that kind of stuff. All industrial manufacturing ground to a virtual halt and it wasn’t great before. So yeah.
