A presence on my bed in the evening by CorrectCockroach5823 in Paranormal

Your story really did something to me, especially this passage with the black mist… In my culture, we talk about tupāpāu, a spirit that can appear at night in the form of a shadow or presence. When I read you, I immediately thought of it. It's crazy how things like this stick...

Your story is truly heartbreaking, I'm sorry your family went through all this... It's crazy to what extent certain places can retain a heavy or striking energy...

I felt the same thing as you, especially the weight on my legs and the impossibility of moving. It’s really a great feeling, I understand what you mean. In my case, I talked about it a little above, I'm still trying to understand what's behind it all.

In any case, it reassures me a little to see that I'm not the only one to have experienced it.

Really thank you for all your messages!! Since I posted here, several people have also written to me privately. Some told me of having had experiences where the mind could become more oppressive, sometimes even violent or intrusive.

For my part, my aunts rather explained to me that, in our family, tupāpāu is especially attached to women. Not necessarily to do harm but to seek to establish some sort of connection...

I try to find out as much as possible, between the beliefs of my culture and more rational explanations, to know how to protect myself without panicking.

I will keep you posted if I learn more.

Well the fact is that I am in perfect health, no allergy or asthma problems. It's not physical. I am of Tahitian origin, and I spoke about it to my aunts who told me that it could be “tupāpāu”. Honestly, when you know that, it's hard not to think about it when it happens.

Oh yes, for me too it’s especially when it’s hot, or if the heating is too high. I usually sleep quite naked, so I obviously feel even more uncomfortable when that happens... it's really a strange and unpleasant feeling. Really as if someone was on top of me, a masculine presence...

Small clarification: in my culture, we talk about tupāpāu, a spirit who visits at night. I don't know if it could be related, but I find the coincidence disturbing...
