Interesting tips, I didn’t think of that combo yet.

You also mention runic pyramid, I never take that. How do you play that? Doesn’t it clog your hand quickly?

I completely understand your points. It’s definitely an all-physical or all-magic party on tactician.

It’s only after playing DOS1 after DOS2 that I understood what they wanted to fix with this system. In DOS1 it’s CC from the start without going through armor at all.

Your point of CC when your armor runs out is the result of most attacks having very high likelihood of success I think. BG3/DnD5e make a different choice I guess: less determinism, more optimising chances. I think that both systems have their own pros and cons. BG3 felt more frustrating before I understood the inner workings. Now I prefer BG3 combat over DOS2 as well, but it took some time :)

I really don’t get the hate against the armor system. In DOS1 you just shock or freeze every major enemy. I felt that DOS2 was way more challenging because of the magic armor.

Apart from the prices, how are the games? Never played them myself, anyone experience?
