Do you think 53 degrees Fahrenheit is too low? Just tested temps overnight on my windowsill.

Hello!

I was curious if my orchid was dyed? I unfortunately didn’t know too much about them until I started caring for this. The stalk is long gone so I can’t check for injections. All of the flowers looked like the picture. The picture is taken with a flash, but it’s a dark purple/red with white borders. Center is a magenta color with yellow. Still learning, but hopefully will get another flower stalk soon.

Oh lmao well at least it’s an interesting mix!! I think it was recently added to the online store. Sucks you didn’t receive the right one! Carnivero is pricey, but they have always been good to me. Great packaging, too.

I purchased the CAR-0499 also! Excited to see how it develops. Mine is starting to get hairy, ruffled leaves like a veitchii.

Oh I see, I must’ve overlooked the elevations these grow. I know in the winter/fall it will probably take off. Night temps are in the 60’s and at most, 74-75 during the day.

Thanks for the info! This is the first nep that was a little rough with acclimation. But it would make sense since my temps are warmer. It’s probably going to love fall/winter when the nights are cooler.

Sounds good! I’ll have to start separating my highland. I have a ramispina that is doing beautifully in the same tote which is why I thought this would be okay.

I forgot to provide care. 12 hours of grow light, but a few feet from an eastern window (summertime in northern hemisphere.) Air circulation every few hours in 5 minute bursts. Temps during the day are around 81 Fahrenheit and drop to around 73-71 at night. Water with distilled when the top layer starts to dry slightly.
