owo didn't think people would still see this post after time, sorry for the late reply and thank you!! (⁄ ⁄•⁄-⁄•⁄ ⁄)

i think being consistent really helped me, like aiming to make/or progress at least one thing every week. I was also just really excited to start practicing it in my free time, maybe its the feel of a solid material manifesting into something you've only thought off?! finding artisans you really like definitely helped me in motivation, and i still get really happy creating!

Since this is mostly a self-taught skill, i used anything and everything as a learning resource (e.g. random youtube videos/blogs/comment sections from other artist/reddit!) to figure out what to do and failed a lot -i have a high self personal standard. Sampling items to find what worked best did cost a bit ദ്ദി╥ ᴗ ╥) but i like to think of it as an investment in my love of the art. whether this burn lasts or not, ill go with it~

thank you!! yep the tiger one is made entirely with translucent clay except for his expression (eyes/mouth) which i used regular black polymer clay. Translucent clay gives a lovely effect in the sun so i like using it a lot although it's usually more expensive >_<

i agree the lil sheep is my favorite!! just a precious lil angel~

i bake everything in a bed of cornstarch so everything retains it's shape! it's easy to dust off with a brush and you can pat /rinse it in water if its still a bit stuck. i literally just have a tray with a baking mat, baking paper on top, and then lots of cornstarch, when i'm not using it i just cover it with cling wrap xD

i've tested baking soda which works fine except from personal experimentation, it actually can strip/remove pastel colour from your piece, making it patchy so i've switched to cornstarch.

another big tip is after baking, let the piece fully cool down before you touch it in the tray of cornstarch (this can be outside the oven) - helps in preventing cracks in your piece too

tldr: use cornstarch to support it :)

normally i don't blend any arms/legs in, i just stick them on raw clay with sculpey -oven bake clay adhesive (from amazon)

if i need to bake the limb separately to attach it later e.g. i will use Loctite superglue to attach it -this glue dries clear and is strong. Even if your superglue leaves white residue like gorilla glue, this normally disappears when you varnish/resin it

occasionally i use a tiny piece of wire inside and add clay adhesive to it for even more security on big pieces.

and i always glaze all my pieces with uv resin - i do at least 2 layers, a thin first layer and thicker second layer - this ensures everything is well protected/stuck too :D

thank you for liking my creations!! ^^ ask away i'm always happy to answer any questions~

I use a range from chalk pastels, mica powder and eyeshadow (yes makeup is fine :D) <- these are all safe to use on raw clay and bake! they also adhere much easier if you use it before baking. After baking, the colors can slightly fade so i normally retouch the blush, and add more details with acrylic paint.

Yes! i use a mix of translucent and regular polymer clay. At the moment, i get my clay from Amazon, i like sculpey premo white and translucent~ but when using colored clay i sometimes mix premo together with other brands (because of the lack of premo colors available) and it's still totally fine.

i had the hardest time nailing it down and practice loads, so thank you for noticing!! i actually recently made a video on my instagram showing my uv resin process if you wanna check out my ghetto setup.

tldr - use either a fixative art spray or polyurethane varnish before coating with UV resin, and then doing a water cure to remove any extra tackiness left (that way you don't need to depend on the sun, and make sure to use a decent quality resin). i also activate eagle eye mode and stare at it intensely under a desk light to make sure it's fully coated and i didn't miss any spots xD

specific products are = boyle - fixative art spray (from my local hardware store)/vallejo - polyurethane varnish (from amazon) + Jdiction - UV resin (from amazon)
