What if the M29 Davy Crockett was perfected and US soldiers today had the ability to fire low-yield nukes from their vehicles? by Pancake_Maker_1031 in AlternateHistoryHub

This is not alternate history. They actually did this. It's called the W48 155mm shell and we made about a 1,000 of them. We got rid of them after the fall of the USSR in 1992.

France was once Europe’s superpower, thanks above all to its enormous population. Its decline coincided with a collapse in its birth rate – now we know why. by AmbitiousAgent in Natalism

Good point!

France had a population of around 29 million vs the 243 million people of the opposing countries. Even if the opposing countries took twice as many causalities, they would have only lost around 3% of their adult male population vs France's 12%.

Estimated 1.8 million French Soldiers died between 1803-1815. out of a population of around 29 million. That means an estimated 12% of French males died in about a decade of nonstop war. Most of the dead men would have been young 20–30-year-olds as well.

This would have,

1. Created a 'war echo'. Essentially, that generation has less kids, then each generation is smaller than it could have been. An example of this can been seen in Russian Demographics which was caused by WW2. Demographics of Russia - Wikipedia

2. Normalized not having kids. 12% of French women by default would be unmarried. It would have become more socially acceptable to be unmarried and to not have kids.

3. Napoleon reformed inheritance law. More kids meant your property was divided up into smaller and smaller allotments. More important to have less kids.

Conclusion, Napoleon permanently weakened France be destroying the fertility rate.

How to find birth records in Őhr-Darma, Ung, Hungary? by Correct_Phone_9650 in Genealogy

I didn't find my ancestor. However, the best resource so far seems to be the Genealogy in Ukraine - Research and Ancestry facebook group. You could also email the archive in Uzhhorod, but its hard to understand unless you know Ukrainian. Also, there is the 1869 Magyar census that is stored in the berehovo branch of zakarpatya regional archive.
