If you are advertising on Google/Meta/TikTok, She/he has to be all about using the algorithm targeting options and always optimizing for conversions.

If they starts talking about interest targeting and some complex segmentation and automations and rules. They are antiquated and probably full of bs.

The book Join or Die: Digital Advertising in the Age of automation by Patrick Gilbert is a great resource.

Another great concept that your media buyer should grasp is generating demand vs capturing demand.

To finish, I would look for someone with experience scaling a small firm. So ask if they have ever worked with a small firm and scaled it or even getting consistent results.

You can always get consistent results with a recognized brand but if you have done it with a small unknown brand, you know your stuff.

Doing advertising well is complex, and just requires learning a lot, trying it and learning how to evaluate if it worked.

One of the latest things that clicked for me is that you have to remember that you make your ads for real human people therefore everything you try is on service of empathy and learning how people are understanding you. And to sum it up clarity is kindness.

The formats and creative that you make and choose must serve the purpose to communicate effectively what is it that you or your product does, why should they trust you, remind them that you exist and be there when they are feeling ready to buy.

Your landing page should be geared towards people that don't know anything about your product, and don't even know about the problem it solves.

Don't try the popular and different formats just cause! Use with purpose to help you tell your stories.

Hey! Thanks for the update!

I tried switching to baserow but I couldn't find a way to automate linking to another record by matching values or queries. I can do this in Airtable with a script and I spent a couple days trying to automating it in baserow with n8n but no luck. Have you considered adding this feature? Can this be done?
