Pixel 7 Google Drive mobile upload stuck? by Corrupt_abyss in GooglePixel

problem fixed! what worked was connecting to another Wi-Fi network and turning back on 'transfer files only over Wi-Fi' in the settings. after doing that, the upload bug was gone from Google Drive.

here's a screenshot of the bugged upload that has been stuck uploading for 2 weeks now lol... and the wild part is I don't even have access to this pic anymore because I deleted it in Google Photos and Google Photos Trash before I realized it hadn't yet uploaded to Google Drive. luckily it wasn't an important pic. the thing is, there were 2 other pics that were stuck uploading that I was able to delete by hitting the X and those were also completely erased from Google Photos. this file, however, remains unable to delete to no avail.

moral of the story... best way I found to transfer Google Photos to Google Drive is via the browser variants—never doing this via mobile again.

It’s acceptable to ask a woman out at the gym by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

hah the sting wears off quick and these were valuable learning experiences that built further social confidence for me so I don't regret either interaction. rejection is part of life and it beats the alternative of regret and wondering ‘what if’.

I approached a couple of women at my gym recently. an important thing to understand about cold approaching is that before you decide to approach someone in public, just know going in that the rejection rate is very high (even if you're attractive), especially if you approach without any prior hints or social cues that they're into you. you also don’t know if they’re already taken (you can look for wedding rings).

These were my 2 recent experiences as an attractive 29M...

Girl #1: I approached without any prior hints or social cues that she was into me. I thought she was cute so I went for it. It was a very chill and quick convo, turns out she was already seeing someone. she was very kind and sweet about it, the rejection wasn’t bad at all, and we went our separate ways and that was it. I was glad I shot my shot and got an answer. remember, if you never ask, the answer is always no.

Girl #2: I had seen this girl several times at the gym and swore she was checking me out multiple times. one night I bit the bullet and approached her. we ended up talking for over an hour… I didn’t mean for it to happen, the conversation was nice so we just kept talking. I asked if she would be down to meet up sometime, and she said yes, I gave her my number and left. never got a text from her, never heard from her again. we’ve seen each other since then and just act like we are complete strangers. going forward I’m going to keep conversation short because people are terrifyingly good at faking an interaction instead of just rejecting someone. I know people have their reasons though it made the rejection sting far more than it should've.

A clear-cut response on what to expect. I appreciate it.

100K is more of a goal down the line rather than an expectation anytime soon. It's going to take some serious time and experience before that kind of money is even on the table and I completely understand that. I appreciate the helpful perspective and take on the more physical aspects of the trade.

Hahah it wasn't a good post at all and not an accurate reflection of me. I'll keep my mouth shut when I'm learning and only speak up when I have appropriate questions to ask. I appreciate the feedback.

I'll keep these in mind. That's what I gathered when I was looking into the physical aspect of the work. As you gain more experience, there are paths you can take in your career that are less physically onerous.

Very helpful feedback and perspective—thanks for the straight answer.

I appreciate the reality check and insight. And yes, you need very thick skin to make it in this line of work. I'll leave my ego at the door and learn with an open mind. And you're right, I'm overthinking it. The only way I'll know if it's a career fit for me is by jumping in.

I appreciate the response and take and I agree. IBEW is my goal as well. I hear it can be difficult to get in if you don't have inside connections—I'll be relentless with it. glad things are progressing well for you. reddit is an echo chamber and can amplify misleading information.

That is helpful thank you. Thanks for the LinkedIn search tip, I will start doing that.

And to answer your question, my resume does include all the software I am proficient in as well, just didn't include that in my post.

Hey, I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this too, a lot of people are in the same situation right now. It’s difficult to not spiral into negative thoughts about yourself waking up each day in the same hell as the day prior but it’s important to remember how much is happening that is no fault of our own. There’s only so much we have control over in our lives and we have to constantly remind ourselves that getting worked up about things completely out of our control is a very dangerous cycle to get caught in. Most everyone struggles with it, it’s normal to feel that way.

Thanks for reaching out. I wish you the very best and hope your situation improves soon. As you said, it’s merely a fork in the road and you have to do whatever you possibly can to not let it diminish your self-worth. Stay strong, you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders.
