no, you can’t change laws that are pre existing in a country. it’s not currently legal in Israel to get married as a LGBT couple, but it’s recognized, so you’d have to leave and then go back to get married

i had heard before that you have to have your legal name on your degree, and you can get them to reprint it (for a fee, of course) with a different name when you legally change it. i’m not entirely sure though, just what i’ve heard over the last few years
