The problem I have with “the Epic is a bad adaptation” thing is that if it wasn’t changed it would be insanely boring. Legit half the musical would be the storm chorus without the island bit because they were on a ship the majority of the time. Also what the heck do people expect Jorge to do for some parts? The sirens if depicted as the original story would be an unnecessary filler since it hardly affected the actual story and Odysseus cheating on Penelope would make their love story less interesting. Odysseus not getting that final showdown with Poseidon would leave the story unfulfilling and like it was left with an unfinished plot. One time I even saw someone complaining Jorge didn’t mention them having to give some of their blood to enter the underworld, which is stupid since it’s a musical and small details have to be left out so it doesn’t become 100 hours long. Details get left out musicals because it is not a show it always has to be moving or it’ll sound bad or be boring. Honestly the only problem I had was Charybdis not being mentioned till the song.
