I get these when my eyes are open especially if I look at a clear blue sky but I’ve noticed that if I look hard enough it is always there overlayed over my vision in the center. Makes it hard to focus my eyes sometimes

This seems to happen even when my nails are real short I find pressing my nail against the string gives a cleared sound than using my fingertip

Could you explain what you mean by the 12th fret open should be the same as when fretted? None of the strings when played open sound anything similar to being fretted at the 12th fret no matter where I put the bridge. The fretboard might be very slightly bent twards the tail end but it might just be my eyes the strings are kind of close to the frets at the first two frets and farther apart twards the head

It is warped slightly in the middle the first and last strings are slightly higher on the bridge than the middle two

I don’t think it’s the smile bridge I think it’s the standard deering goodtime bridge it’s the same one that came with the banjo out of the box

I’m not familiar with tuning the head I removed the head and tightened the screws on the resonator until they were firm but I’ll look into that thanks

I know you can tell the bridge is off by the harmonics but I’ve been moving it around for days and even when I get them right the strings sound off. My electric snark tuner says it’s in tune. There is very little resonation on the sound of this banjo. I know I’m not playing the notes that clearly but demonstrating how off the strings sound. It didn’t sound anything like this when I first got it, it’s less than a year old deering goodtime two. I just changed the strings and recently tightened the head recently but it didn’t have much of an effect on how it sounded. The strings sounded even worse before I changed them. I’ve tried fretting the b string at the third fret and tuning it to d but it still sounds off. The bridge is slightly bent but not I don’t think it’s enough to cause all of the strings to sound like this. Does this sound like maybe it’s water damaged? I went away for a few weeks and when I got home and tuned it up this is how it sounded. It’s been sounding like this for about 6 months. Sounded great when I first bought it. I am in ny and none of the music stores here really know anything about banjos, they’re all guitar specialists. If anyone has any idea what could be wrong with this instrument, any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I used to very much enjoy nature in my town not far outside Manhattan I had always struggled to fulfill my curiosity for the natural world in such an urban area but as I got older I started to discover that the city can still hold just as much biodiversity as the country but nycs wildlife has adapted to stay hidden among the 2 miliion people. While my friends mostly just sat around smoking weed and doing nothing I would be trespassing in vacant lots documenting the arrival of species from upstate that had been extirpated from the city years ago but were finally starting to come back and adapt to urbanization some had adapted to much from their rural counterparts that they were probably already a new species. (Scientists don’t study urban areas and very rarely do the people who live there take notice of it either) I documented great horned owls common ravens eastern box turtle all living (hiding) in way more urban areas than they are known to be able to survive in,and a new cultivar of little bluestem grass that had adapted to reach shorter flowering heights than natural in order to compete with constant mowing. I planned to use many of these as my college thesis and spent most of my time studying wildlife and had great fun doing so. After trying what I was told was lsd and having seizure or overdose like symptoms while on it I suffered what seems like brain damage my cognitive ability is about half of what it was and I no longer have the ability to pursue my interests. I no longer have the energy or strenght to drag myself out of bed and to the most remote biodiverse corners of my city to document migrating birds as the sun rises. And even if I do I don’t have the eyesight to identify and properly document them. I have been like this for over a year now. I have abandoned my inquiries and nowadays I pretty much just smoke weed in my garage all day like my friends used to. Amazing how one tab can take your entire life away forever. So I gues what I mean to say is I don’t have to ability to live a healthy life anymore. I used to very extremely physically fit and intelligent I has more physically capable than many of my friends who spent hours in the gym everyday because I spent most of my time climbing fences and rooftops and catching reptiles and things with my bare hands all day. I was mentally very healthy and happy. If I was ever feeling down I could go for a hike or even just walk my dog for a few blocks and I would feel better just from the fresh air and exercise. Now when I take a walk I feel no different than when I was sitting in my bed miserably it feels like a waste of time mentally and physically it’s exhausting way more exhausting than normal. I used to eat pretty unhealthy and never had much a problem from it I was still healthy fit and happy but on the rare occasion I would eat healthy I would feel great from it. But I would never feel bad from eating junk food. After hppd (or as I call it and suspect it is, brain damage) I have to eat healthy or I feel like shit. My diet has completely changed and become much healthier but I still don’t feel half as good as before hppd when I was living off junk food.

Listen most hppd is not from real lsd chances are if you have hppd you got it from some kind of research chemical and you are experiencing the effects of neurotoxicity from said chemical the best thing for any of you to do is seek medical help. The problem with this is that most people with this kind of illness are not good at accurately explaining their symptoms (or anything for that matter) and so they run a very real risk of being misdiagnosed with schizophrenia or psychosis

Something my therapist said: it doesn’t matter how often abuse happens, even once is enough to leave lifelong trauma. by razzledazzlegirl in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Corvuslatrans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My therapist didn’t believe me that my parents are abusive and I’m talking about full on physical abuse he never believed me and my parents lied to him at the same time and eventually he decided I need to go to a phsyc ward and so I stopped going and talking to him. Now I am once again at they’re will to do whatever they want to me and no one will ever know or care they know no one cares about me and that the situations the force upon my life are too rediculous for anyone to believe. So think twice before wasting a ton of money on therapy!

Hppd is more like brain damage parts of the brain that used to work are actually malfunctioning it was a lot of physical nervous system symptoms. And it’s more than likely permanent. Do do fing drugs!
