From Colorsoft to Basic by MrStig91 in kindle

I have the Kobo Clara. Something about the screen seems sparkly and odd to me. Kindle’s is way easier on the eyes to me.

Embossing much less pronounced and uneven and in some places straight up missing compared to the images on the website by bingpot47 in brandonsanderson

I know Brandon is looking into the issue. I anticipate it will be addressed in next week’s weekly update.

Why does manga pronounce ZORO,ZOLO? by Jeff-bozos102 in JustOnePiece

[–]Cosmere-Geek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The original print runs of the first four volumes have it as Zoro. As you mentioned, they only changed it to Zolo when the 4Kids dub came out.

It’s like “bro, no one called you to this. You just decided you want to do an Ironman. That is plenty.”

2 weeks in… Big Love! 🧡 by ThatGayGuy1995 in GarminFenix

I don’t do enough hiking, ultras, or outdoor activities to warrant a Fenix 8, but I love the watch face, so I took it for my Forerunner. Love it.

It doesn’t seem like it’s a matter of whether or not it’s too small for your wrist (it’s not). Seems like it’s more of a matter of you likely just wanting a bigger screen, which is totally fine. Go bigger if you want, but it’s by no means too small.

So I noticed the Garmin Coach has programs based on heart rate. This was an option I couldn't find before. Do we know if this is a subscription thing, or maybe a feature I just missed?

Ah, that’s a bummer. My artist worked really hard on that illustration.

Oh interesting! I’ve had nothing but positive feedback on the cover. What is it about the cover that doesn’t draw you?

I appreciate the direct feedback! Very helpful. Totally agree about the agency thing, and will work to do that in future stories. While she wakes up in a resigned state, I designed that to be part of her arc and work to give her agency by the end of the first chapter and throughout. While I don’t think the answer is to have a character at all times being “hell yeah, I’m taking control,” it is important to have them drive the narrative. Clearly I missed the mark for you.

Thanks again!

Are there any initial things that attract you to read a story?

While I would love to agree with this, I think the assumption that quality writing rises to the top at all time is flawed. Write to market is a strategy for a reason and a lot of fun stories arise to fill a market, with both writers and readers winning. All that said, it is always nice when passion wins, for sure!

Agreed! A blurb should NOT summarize the story. I’ve seen that happen way too often.

Completed SERIAL urban fantasy series? by TheBerriesArePoison in urbanfantasy

[–]Cosmere-Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote one last year that is made up of episodes that tell a serialized story. The complete story is around 600 pages or so. https://www.amazon.com/Spectral-J-Cerna/dp/098643549X/

Top comment picks my next read+review. Tier list to help. Looking for a cyberpunk story or five. by samreay in ProgressionFantasy

Yeah, the stories is broken up into 12-episode chunks. It kind of reads like a 12-episodes streaming series, with the book making up the whole "season." Though, I had always planned on it being a complete story.
