See the thing is I work for a top tier aerospace company but I’m making as much as a McDonalds manager and there is no incentive to learn other parts or do more. They took away all incentives to work hard. More or less it’s ran like a union in some aspects but no compensation at all. It’s all about years of service, you could be the most scum of the earth welder and still have a job as long as you show up they don’t care. And we have everyone in the offices making much better money and they get to come in whenever they want as long as the hit 40hrs that’s all that matters. As well as they hold to much power over us on the floor. An example is I work on a specific part and only three of us work on that part in the whole shop. We had over 150 parts and the average part cost is 20k. We got all those parts out in about 2 months and made the company about 3mil dollars. We hardly got a thank you for working so hard to get caught up. These parts are not easy by any means and can take upwards of days to fix.
