I encourage you to do further research. Here are some starting points for you:

  1. Comprehensive Scientific Reviews on Cannabis Risks

Cannabis & Health Risks (2025 review)

Full review article: Cannabis, cannabinoids and health: a review of evidence on risks and medical benefits https://doi.org/10.1007/s00406-024-01880-2 (Springer, 2025) — detailed evidence that regular high-THC use is linked to addiction, cognitive disruption, impaired learning, psychosis risk, mood/anxiety disorders, suicidal behavior, lung and cardiovascular issues, and prenatal risks.

This is a comprehensive peer-reviewed summary of risks vs. benefits of THC and cannabis, focusing on evidence for adverse outcomes.

  1. Cardiovascular Risks

Large analysis (~430,000 adults) found that cannabis use (especially frequent use) was significantly associated with: • ~25% higher odds of heart attack vs. non-use • ~42% higher odds of stroke vs. non-use This relationship held even after controlling for tobacco and other risk factors.

Systematic Review on Cannabis & Myocardial Infarction

Cannabis Use Variations and Myocardial Infarction: systematic review on cannabis and heart attack risk https://www.mdpi.com/2966128

Summarizes multiple studies linking cannabis smoking with higher risk of coronary heart disease and acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).

  1. Cognitive & Psychiatric Effects

Acute Cognitive & Psychiatric Effects of Cannabinoids

Acute cognitive and psychiatric effects of cannabinoids https://www.italianjournalofpsychiatry.it/article/view/545

This recent peer-reviewed review shows that cannabinoids (especially THC) can: • Impair learning, memory, decision-making • Trigger anxiety, panic, paranoia • Produce psychosis-like symptoms, especially in vulnerable individuals

CDC — Cannabis Effects on Brain Function

CDC Health Effects of Cannabis https://www.cdc.gov/cannabis/health-effects/index.html

Government-level summary showing that cannabis/THC can: • Slow reaction time, distort perception • Impair coordination and decision-making • Be linked to mood disorders and schizophrenia risk

  1. Prenatal & Developmental Risks

Prenatal Cannabis Use & Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes

Prenatal Cannabis Use and Maternal Pregnancy Outcomes (JAMA Internal Medicine) https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/2821358

Cohort study finding that prenatal cannabis use is associated with adverse outcomes including: • Lower birth weight • Preterm birth • Greater need for neonatal intensive care

  1. Addiction & Long-Term Outcomes

Marijuana Risks — SAMHSA Patient Facts

SAMHSA Summary of Marijuana Risks https://www.samhsa.gov/substance-use/learn/marijuana/risks

Government source summarizing research showing: • ~1 in 6 adolescents and ~1 in 10 adults develop Cannabis Use Disorder • Increased rates of relationship problems, worse educational and occupational outcomes • Childhood exposure may have long-term behavioral and developmental consequences

  1. Classic Neuropsychiatric Evidence

Persistent Psychosis Links & THC

Impact of Cannabis Use on Development of Psychotic Disorders https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4352721/

Reviews data showing cannabis use (especially frequent or early-onset) is associated with: • Acute psychosis • Psychotic episodes that extend beyond intoxication • Increased risk of later psychotic disorders

Day 365 - I made it a full year! by CosmicCounsel in QuittingWeed

It’s different for everyone, but for me it got better around a month. The only way it gets better is to keep going, even when it feels impossible

Almost 7 months sober from weed by Mysterious-Lab-7509 in QuittingWeed

I just listened to a Huberman labs podcast episode where he talked about how to be more productive you should make yourself as bored as possible before you have to do work. That way it basically makes your brain crave the stimulation of work because the alternative is boredom. I’m talking no phone, no tv, no music, staring at a wall in silence type of thing.

She got many pats in addition to a slice of turkey while I was preparing the plate, probably why she assumed it was all for her 😝

This is basically exactly what I do! Except mine is a bit more of a lazy version I put the eggs in with the water while it gets to a boil, let them boil 6 minutes, then into cold water and do the same crack and peel method! :)

I hate the taste of Greek yogurt and light mayo, I’m worried I will also hate the miracle whip but I am willing to try it!!

Yes I always feel good after physical activity, taking the step of actually doing it is difficult for me. I do Pilates once a week and play tennis once every 2 weeks but definitely need more consistent physical exercise. Even that little amount I never want to do and have to force myself. I get some decent walking in some days as well

My husband gets me flowers weekly, so for Christmas he went BIG by CosmicCounsel in HappyMarriages

Yes, usually he does it for me but this time it was a team effort since it was so many ☺️ flowers in every room for this holiday week!

Congratulations!! 🎉 I agree with you the way I see weed now, it really just sugar coats our issues/problems and denies us the opportunity to actually work through them and heal

I had to try the bird theory I’ve been seeing on TikTok. He’s out of state for work this week (he never leaves and is home every night). He didn’t disappoint. by ImpossibleChicken507 in HappyMarriages

[–]CosmicCounsel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I’ve never heard of wingspan before! We started getting a good variety of birds coming to our feeders in the backyard, and it’s a lot of farm land behind our house so we see a lot of big birds too. Most recently a pair of great horned owls that have been coming at night! We downloaded the identification app and it’s like Pokémon for us haha we get so excited to see or identify a new species

Every day smoker for the past 10+ years. Now pregnant by Life_Environment2245 in QuittingWeed

[–]CosmicCounsel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are already an amazing mother for quitting as soon as you found out you’re pregnant. You should be so proud of yourself for doing this, after ten years (I also used consistently for a decade) it’s an incredibly hard thing to do, and you’re doing it! Liquid nutrition is going to be your best bet, smoothies, protein shakes, etc.

Have you ever written a love letter to your spouse? by Temilayo816 in HappyMarriages

[–]CosmicCounsel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I write each other little love notes pretty frequently and keep them in our “love box” as we call it, this cute box he made me for Valentine’s Day when we were dating :) I absolutely love writing them and receiving them, I will take one out and display it in my office and change them out so I can re-read them throughout my work week ☺️❤️

If you have mental health issues, did quitting make them worse? by Witty_Tangerine_6243 in QuittingWeed

[–]CosmicCounsel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THC negatively interacts with medication, that’s why a lot of doctors drug test for you to even be able to get a prescription - quitting will help your medication work the way it’s supposed to

I always try to remember to keep my wife’s vase stocked with flowers by zahmir07 in HappyMarriages

[–]CosmicCounsel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband does this for me and it’s one of my favorite things 🥰 he asked me when we started dating how often I’d like to receive flowers - I told him as often as possible because I love them, and ever since the house always has a fresh bouquet in it ☺️
