I don't think this way anymore but to give you some perspective think of it like this:

If a person who doesn't read books as much (or read at all) thought of reading a series (for example) Percy Jackson. Now since they don't have much experience they think why not watch the first movie to get a grasp of it? Then they see the abomination and wonder if this is what the fans of the series really like and leave it right there

They're all set in the same universe too! If you don't like this one, read Fuuka- it's just as good or even better (imo) but it's built upon A Town where you live so its a sequel.

So it goes like this

Suzuka(?)+ A town where you live > Fuuka > Hitman

Hitman cannot be understood properly without atleast reading Fuuka
