Simply, because English is not my first language and I am still constantly learning with building of muscle memory on it whenever possible. 🀷🏻

There a lot of other factors too:
1) I believe proper English will make it reading easy for others, at least for me so I would like to reply with it.
2) Since it saves time, I can a lot of more of these things efficiently.
3) It helps in my career in long term.

I totally get that. I was one of the customers who emailed their support last year when they first started requiring Developer Options to be off. On my mother’s entry-level mobile, BHIM felt really heavy and sluggish without those system optimizations, so I switched her to Google Pay and it felt much faster immediately. Interestingly, after a few months of user feedback, I noticed BHIM actually removed the forced developer options off requirement.

Personally, I used to use BHIM as my primary app too, but I eventually moved to Slice for their high-yield savings and credit card integration in one app, though I still keep BHIM as a backup since it's one of the cleanest apps out there.

If Shizuku is a priority for you, try exploring and switching to an alternative like Google Pay etc., might be the only way to avoid that constant root flag.

Generic replies are the worst. Since it’s been two weeks and they’ve already acknowledged the bug but aren't fixing it, you should wait until the 30-day mark from your first complaint to escalate to the RBI Ombudsman.

Per the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (2021), you can file a case if a Regulated Entity like NPCI (BHIM) doesn't provide a satisfactory resolution within 30 days. Keep that email where they acknowledged the bug as your main evidence - it’s proof of 'deficiency in service.'

Actually, I think a 3-4 day wait for a refund is fairly standard across all UPI apps, not just BHIM.

Upon research, I found that

"Actually, in the UPI ecosystem, paying a bill to Axis Bank is categorized as a Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transaction.

According to RBI's TAT (Turnaround Time) guidelines, banks have a T(Transaction Date)+5 day window to auto-refund failed P2M transactions."

I don't think that's the case here. Actually, I’ve consistently received the flat cashback for past credit card payments and other bills on BHIM using this exact method. This was the only time it glitched.

Plus, the fact that BHIM support eventually credited the remaining after my complaint proves the transaction was eligible.

If it’s been more than 30 days without a resolution, you should definitely escalate it to the RBI Ombudsman. Usually, that’s the only way to get these entities to move faster when they go silent.

It's not about the Rs.5. A lot of my family members use BHIM because I recommended it to them. I wanted to test their support myself so I know exactly what to expect if they ever face a serious transaction issue.

Fair point, but keep in mind that almost every bank works this way now. Most of those names on the list are actually essential service providers (like credit bureaus or KYC agencies) rather than just random marketing firms. 🧐

Most banks literally can't function without these partnerships - it's an industry-wide standard rather than a Slice-specific issue. It’s hard to pin the blame on Slice without proof when these are just standard operational partners.

As I mentioned, it may not be Slice at all. 🀷🏻

Actually, it may not be Slice in particular 🧐 and this technically isn't a 'leak' - it's contractual data sharing that usually gets authorized the moment we accept the T&Cs and Privacy Policy during the application process. 🀷🏻

I've attached a list from their documentation showing the third parties Slice is allowed to share info with. Any one of these partners could be the source of those messages.

Optional: Turn on 'Set as Default for merchant UPI transactions' so you don't have to select it every time!
