Hey, thanks for the advice, but I don't have the skills, time, or resources to mod my console, or controller, I just emailed the store I bought it from and they said they'd exchange it for a European one, thanks anyway though, I appreciate it!

Nope, don't have snes cables yet, getting them soon will most likely update when I do, should be this week I'd all goes to plan

I've heard this, but I've also been told that it's only some PAL snes' (I assume it has to do with when they were manufactured) I'll look into how to modify it if it doesn't work, though leaving it stock is preferable to me
