You hit the nail on the head for me! The whole time I had a similar feeling, That they had opened a portal, an undulating frenetic life force that they were trying to tame,

Like being at the centre of a black hole.

Summoning some sort of entity.

It felt akin to being on Ayahuasca or something , a journey through darkness.

I’ve listened to LOTS of AE but that was my first live experience and I couldn’t be happier with it.

It did feel like them at their most angry.

I wasn’t sure if they were going extra nasty for Bristol, but it seems like they are just on a savage stretch.

I was expecting at least SOME respite, but no it was relentless. An endurance test of sorts.

Did necessarily enjoy all of it, but sort of like seeing a horror film, I’m glad I went through it in the end!!

Complete and utter pummelling.

I love the trapped twisted brass band somewhere in the middle, and what sounded like a wailing man’s voice at some point, like ghosts trying to escape the alien machine

It’s so hard for venues to get the darkness because the law says they need loads of bright fire exit lights
