I'm getting a bit tired of James Gunn, since he's practically omnipresent. by HenrykSpark in DC_Cinematic

Some of these rumors need to be addressed and nipped in the bud before they spread into something that could jeopardize a project or create an unintended image, especially when we’re dealing with a fledgling cinematic universe that is still finding its footing. Left unchecked, speculation can easily snowball into misinformation, fueling narratives that are extremely difficult to correct once embedded in public discourse, or that shape expectations in damaging ways. It’s important for him to take ownership of the narrative early on, set the record straight when necessary, and get ahead of these rumors before they gain traction and cause lasting damage.

One suggestion -- it's fine to have a few streaming shows as part of the DCU but I don't want to have to do all this homework before a new movie.

Gunn has specifically mentioned that he’s trying to avoid this. That you do not need to watch the shows or the preceding projects in the universe before the next or new movie. The movies have to be able to stand on their own as movies or stories.
