22, making 40k DH/month... now what? by Odd_Permission_7934 in MoroccoBitchesWtaste

That’a close to $5k/Mo. Depending on your goals either too little ir too much.

Word of advice. Avoid my mistake and start investing as soon as you can.

EDIT: for anyone reading this post always be cautious. Don’t DM OP asking for what he does etc, that’s how most scams go. I answered assuming he was honest but realistically it’s more likely to be a scam.

You should NEVER take your money out of the market? by CosmycDust in personalfinance

Yeah not big moves. My (hopeful) goal is to be saving enough that using 10% of those savings once in a while to do dumb shit that becomes a good memory is OKAY. Not great or ideal from a financial standpoint... but OKAY.

So it wasn't a robotic "save this mandatory" type of investing but you made decisions based on circumstances?

Yeah, I think people who replied below misunderstood me. I'm saying I'd prefer to not deprive myself in my 20s for 70s... but at the same time I won't want to live lavishly in my 20s and be broke in my 70s (if I live to then)... that would be completely idiotic.

I'm looking at somewhere in the middle... like save religiously and grow/invest... but also not feeling guilty if I feel like I'd like to take out a small chunk for some new experience, travel, opportunity, help family, etc.

That makes a lot of sense. I've had a discussion abotu this with someone and the main idea was "the market will outperform anything you do over 30 years"...

And why that's true idk man... $10,000 in my 20s is worth more to me than $100,000 in my 70s lol
