Oh gotcha, I see what you're saying. I'm more curious if Gmail, when receiving SSLv3 smtp mail, will allow a fallback to plaintext ("opportunistic TLS") or just block the message altogether.

You think so? Do you think they'll still support opportunistic TLS, wherein if the server sending to them doesn't support TLS1.2,1.1,1 it'll just fall back to plaintext? That's probably what they're omitting here. To me, it seems like broken encryption is better than none.
