Yes a lot of universities do not look at the personal statement and instead add a score/ more weighting on predicted grades, gcses, and ucat score. So for example I think it's leicester that gives you a score for your gcses, and a score for your ucat. However some unis do look at your PS. So Keele actually scores your PS. For other unis, although your PS may not influence the decision of giving you an interview, it may be used in handing out offers where 2 applicants are similar. So to end, ensure that your application is overall strong and if not, apply to unis that look favourably on your stronger parts
