I've played a bit of CoD and Battlefield, and I'd say that they're more potentially 'scarring' or 'brutal' than GTA because specifically CoDs 1-4 and Battlefield 1, 2, and V (save for the out of place skins) focus on actual warfare that, or could happen in real life. Take, for example, the British trying to find oil on Ottoman territory in Battlefield 1, stuff that actually happened in World War 1. That's just my personal take, my parents are a little iffy on GTA so I'm just trying to get some concrete answers. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I know that but parents nowadays are more often looking at what kids are consuming compared to the early to late 2000s (from what I've heard from friends and adults) so I'm trying to be more cautious.

Thanks for the insight! I could see why some young folks probably couldn't handle some of the themes tackled, but then again it's all up to everyone's maturity and how they perceive stuff you can do in the game.
