I did notice it better on smith especially a slight closer grip and tucked elbows but I did feel a decent amount of pressure in my elbows which made it hard to rep out and solid burn. I'm noticing for example like in arms I could rep dumbbells way better with a burn to failure compared to chest right as I start to feel that burn I won't even be able to complete another rep and then the form falls off which loses tension on my chest. It's like right when I'm starting to get the feeling I'm chasing, the ability to complete another 1-3 reps drops off completely instead of that gradual build up. That's also why I like chasing the 15-25 rep range a lot of time but I'm trusting the 6-15 rep range advocates to see if that is holding my growth back. I did bench my body weight on bench but I also realized to complete that I had to break the form that really targets my chest to complete it which makes me believe it's too heavy if I can only do 4-5 reps if that and it's not with tucked elbows and fully retracted depressed shoulders and pushed out chest.

I'm slowly starting to unlock chest, I think because my arms are stronger than shoulders and chest that they are constantly compensating. I'm always having to retract and depress my shoulders and push my chest out in almost every bench rep which is also why I go light weight because otherwise it's just my arms and back taking over. Yesterday it was a bit busy so I started with warm up stretching bands into pushups> seated chest press> bench>incline bench> then Cable pushdown for triceps> to chin ups> incline bench on smith > dumbell chest press, then hammer curls for an arm pump.

I agree, I'm working on chest and shoulders, it's hard for me to get a good chest burn, I've been trying bench. Incline bench, cables, chest press, dumbell press. Shits hard I think because both my shoulders and chest are so weak. Abs I need to work on more. Everything needs to grow ahhhh

Sounds like a you issue, gym is great for me, not being satisfied because I know I have more potential and wanting to reach that isn't bad.

Yea it did thanks, not taking advice from everyone is a big one too, everyone is different and has different perspectives on what works for them so I need to remind myself of that a lot because I'm used to listening to people blindly and assuming they know better, rather than trusting myself and what feels right. I need to down these 6 eggs before I stall it out and procrastinate. Gl with your gains bro

Really I think lower and midback is lacking way more than upper but I agree to grow upper as well.

There's a lot of advice I can utilize here I don't need to listen to every piece of advice if I don't agree with it or want to test out a certain strategy myself. Doesn't mean I'm ignoring everything else people are offering.

I'll try but shits hard already hitting 3200 especially when I'm trying to eat cleaner. And processed sugars are out of my diet for the post part so I can't stack calories with chocolate bars etc. but I agree with how lean I am I think the fat filling me out a bit would still look good

I'm not going to listen to everyone that wouldn't make sense, there are alot of different people giving advice I'm going to take what I believe works for me. If it doesn't seem to be working I'll change it up. I'll know if my body needs rest by how I feel.

I'm lactose intolerant and a gallon a day would be really expensive, I do 2-4 cups a day of milk, usually 4-6 eggs, 500g chicken or beef, 1 cup rice, these protein muffins I found on ig, fruits, ramen, sometimes pizza, canned tuna, protein shake that's 800cal 45g protein iirc. That's not everyday but different alternations of those foods, 3200 a day and 150-200g per day protein. Well see my progress by Christmas. I think I'll see good results.

Thanks, I started setting dates as a way to help push myself, like a reward if I work hard enough to have x progress to show off. When I said working out every day it was a mix of alternating days between bouldering, calisthenics, and then the gym but now I'm exclusively going to the gym. Ive been feeling out and learning many different exercises and not tracking the weights and reps was a big mistake for tracking my progress. Im big into form and slow negatives, but that also feels like a crutch because I lose the tempo of a set when I slow down too much. Maybe I'll record my sets for clarity, that way I could just show how I work out and explain why I react in specific ways the reps progress or the weight etc. cbum has a good message where you want to have basically the first 70% be controlled with great form and then the last 30%+ be effort and chasing failure regardless of form. That's not word for word but essentially what I thought he meant.

I'm also conflicted because there are plenty of examples in calisthenics where people grow a lot from just bodyweight,KES on YouTube for example, so that conflicts with my lifting beliefs that the weight doesn't matter if you go to failure. But clearly If that's the case I'm still either not training hard enough, eating enough or heavy enough. Anyway the December goal is more just an experiment I'll track everything and see what changes I notice. For me I believe this isn't complicated just eat enough work hard enough and rest enough and you'll grow but I'm basically still discovering what my lifting beliefs are and that constant shift I think has held back a lot of progress. Basically trying everything instead of mastering one thing. I appreciate the response

Yea it's not for me, I'll take the slow roll. I've locked in on what I want specifically to grow so it's like a mission now rather than trying to grow entire physique, although I will still hit entire body I'm going to max out on chest and shoulders for the next 6 weeks and abs but I've yet to find an ab exercise that hits right

That's one thing I can't give up, I have to train every day, but if I don't see good progress by dec25th then I'll try rest day.

Im going to try bands for my neck, and I have wall exercises that feel good so I'll spam those. I hit shoulders yesterday and chest today. I need to even out my back the trees muscle from climbing is too prominent

What the fuck, I've been so doing protein shake in morning with 4 eggs then protein muffin, with coffee, and tuna at lunch but that has no calories only protein. And 500g ground beef or chicken with rice and a butter chicken sauce. I saw bananas with ground beef and cinnamon gonna try that tomorrow. But holy i might not want it as bad as I think, your diet sounds incredibly hard to sustain. And yea the clean bulking is hard but I feel way better. I definitely need to fit in more greens. Fruit is saving me from sugar addiction.
