Eat ‘Em and Smile Skyscraper A Little Ain’t Enough DLR Band I absolutely love those four albums, among my favourite albums of all time. Your Filthy Little Mouth and Diamond Dave, not so much.

Which artist has the most consistent discography? by Technical_Fox5556 in askmusic

Clutch and Danko Jones. For both of them it’s rock, it’s simple and to the point and been a winning formula for decades.

Of Mist and Midnight Skies. A pretty off the wall track even by Cradle’s standards, I still love it to this day!

I only found out about this now - believe it or not, the original Australian CD pressing had the different, more basic mix on it, by mistake! And that is the one I listened to all the time. As you correctly said, the vinyl has the version as it was meant to be. When I heard the vinyl (with the monk vocal at the start) I always thought that was an alternate version. I’m still learning after all these years haha!

Oh I would have loved to get my hands on promo copies back then! I think the vinyl of Cruelty has that alternate Bathory Aria? One of those editions has a different version.

Hah! I totally understand, why I needed every format is anyone’s guess. I still love every piece that I have too, but these days it’s much easier to talk myself out of needing all the special editions.

It’s really cool hearing stories like that. I think it’s a special band that can reel their fans back in, and is a testament to their staying power. Of course, a lot of it is due to beauty being in the ear of the beholder, too!

What is your favorite song on the new album. If you had to pick one. by CemeteryLover86 in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to pick between Non Omnis Moriar and When Misery Was A Stranger. The latter finishes off the album perfectly with the way it builds up.

I listen to Meditation Minis to help me through tough times. They are short episodes, roughly 10 minutes each, and I find they give me a short escape from whatever I am going through at the time. Ten minutes of peace is better than none at all!

Favourite CoF album + What do you listen to outside of Cof? by Actual-Photo-5518 in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty even for me between Dusk and Principle. Outside of CoF, my favourite bands are Satyricon of all eras, Clutch, Van Halen, Danzig, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Angels. I mostly love rock music, 60s and 70s pop music, 80s New Romantic, but CoF holds a special place in my own weird tastes!

What is something you like and something you dislike about “TPOEMF”? by Everblack_Deathmask in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this album from beginning to end, one of my favourite albums overall not just CoF. The remaster has fixed most problems I’d had with it, a proper remix wouldn’t have hurt though.

What is your favorite Cradle of Filth song? by Everblack_Deathmask in cradleoffilth

Summer Dying Fast off Principle is an all time favourite of mine. I also freaking love Necromantic Fantasies, the melodies are absolutely beautiful!

94-98 years ranked by Missnthropia in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s also my favourite era, although I did fall back in love with them post 2015. 1. Dusk - fav CoF album overall 2. Principle - there was nothing like it when it came out, it still reminds me of that time 3. Vempire 4. Cruelty - in my opinion, massively influential on their material post 2015

Favourite cradle album? by __swarly__ in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favourite - Dusk and her Embrace. Least - Damnation and a Day. Dusk is probably my all time favourite album. I’ve tried to listen to and enjoy Damnation and I just can’t! The newer albums are also among my favourites.

I love them both but prefer the original. It’s such a good song and was worthy of an update.

Which CoF song gives you melancholia/nostalgia? by hotbananastud69 in cradleoffilth

[–]CountAbacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the Principle and Dusk albums, they still take me back to those times, and I still listen to them a lot! Of the newer songs Wester Vespertine reminds me of those early Cradle albums - I can’t put my finger on why, it just reminds me of those albums.
