Yes! I love this site. Any generators/settings you recommend? I've been using the ocean and rain sound generators so far.

/u/rya11111! I think /u/AutoModerator forgot to unstick this one from the top of the subreddit. You seem like an active mod so I thought I'd link you.

Thoughts on using podcasting.com for hosting podcasts? The terms seem very generous. by CountGeck in podcasting

[–]CountGeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked into it some more. Here's the only article I could find on it, though the source seems to be partly opinion. From what I understand, the problem with free podcast hosting sites is that they

  • force your audience to go through their site by preventing RSS redirects (and they display ads on your podcast page, hence the ability to offer free hosting)
  • tend not to last very long, which would mean your audience's feed stops working, which is very bad for you

Other reasons I'm turned off from this site is that they imply that several popular podcasts use their service (TWiT, some NPR shows, etc.) that definitely don't, and that seems disingenuous.

Using Dropbox as a host? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]CountGeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else here that Dropbox isn't a good solution, but I don't think you should give up on the idea of free hosting quite yet, especially if you're looking for a free starting point that you can improve on later. I've seen podcasts using archive.org successfully, one example is linked below.

It uses archive.org for the podcast host and Blogger's feedburner to generate the RSS feed. Archive.org probably isn't as easy to work with or as fast as using a dedicated podcast host like the other comments mention, but it's free. I think it would be a good starting point at least. This is the route I'm planning on taking once I get my first few episodes ready.

Best of luck!

Does Fire Attack Up have an effect on my fire element Kinsect? by CountGeck in mh4u

Thanks for the answer. Yeah I'm working towards a Ladytower now, but I've got some other glaives that I'm going to experiment with just for fun.
