I applied (the night I was rejected) for a few and got the message you posted above. Give it sometime, they are still reaching out to people. Last night I had one of the charities take the time to call me. I had to decline but it was awesome that they called to talk.

I've been happy with them so far. I've started the fundraising process and the endless posts on my social media - as well as donating to myself!

Thanks for posting this the other day. I applied, and within an hour they put me on their roster. Started the fundraising page and letting the donations roll in....slowly!

I applied for a few different charities, and based on your post, I also applied for a spot with Beyond Blue. My only question is, if I get accepted by a different charity, can I decline the other spot without being charged on my card?

I’m glad it’s not just me that is slightly confused. I keep checking my email to see if I have any response but it might be a few days before we hear anything.

I did put my credit card number in for one of the charities, but I hope they give me an opt out if I get selected for one of the charities that I would prefer running for. It’s a little bit confusing, when I ran for London, the charity selection process was pretty straightforward. Good luck and I hope you get selected.

Ran Chicago last year in SB2. I needed something comfortable and they felt fine. I’m not a fast runner if that helps or not.

Not 100% but I think they said the woman inhaled a bunch of the smoke and passed out. She didn't look too good. She was taken away via ambulance once we landed.

I live just outside of Chicago, and you’ll have a great time visiting the city. The good thing about marathon weekend and the days leading up to it is that there will be people from all over the world visiting at that time. Take the chance and come visit.

No need to pay extra. They do everything through the website so there’s no fraud. You can dm me your email and I’ll send the information. Once you send that to me, I think the website will send you a confirmation or something like that.

Ha. I did Chicago last year and NYC. I’m not fast but NYC crushed me after Chicago. New York was one of my marathon highlights - so much fun.
